I think Mighty Doom (the mobile Doom game) follows this idea closely. Top down shooter, bosses are reached after clearing sections, etc.
Just follow that format, maybe take the precursor missions down a bit, add more classes/better leveling, then add teammates and BOOM! You’ve got something to work with.

I haven't played Power Doom (nor do I plan to), but aside from being a top down shooter, I'm not really seeing the similarities here. The two most important parts of the hypothetical game I've proposed are: 1. The game is a boss battler. You start a level, you're already fighting a boss. You beat the boss, you beat the level. No regular enemies. 2. It's about cooperation with your teammates, and the classes building off each other. That "add teammates" is one of the changes you suggested I make implies that teamwork isn't a part of the game. Leveling will probably be governed 100% by equipment, rather than any sort of traditional XP system. 9.9 times out of 10, XP systems suck.

Idk I thought it seemed similar minus the minion enemies and such…

I mean, maybe? I’m only going off of your description, so there could be more in common that you didn’t mention.

I’m not exactly the best person to describe something sooooo I guess just take my word for it :p
