Unrelenting for example proccing the heal on 3 melee kills seems much more in line with how glaives are meant to be played.
I understand damage perks not working on melee, but passive perks should 100% work on it.
Like ...
Unrelenting.
Demo/pugilist.
Wellspring.
And if we ever get it..osmosis like perks to change the melee element.
And also make melee based aspects work with glaive melee.
Like lethal current or stylish executioner.
Also kinetic syphon should 100% work for the glaive's KINETIC melee multikills, the reaper mod works for the melee after a class ability so that proves it could work.

I'm more interested in being able to use charged melee abilities while wielding a glaive. The potential combos would be awesome

Glaives are designed poorly and Bungie isn't going to make any meaningful changes to how they function. Weapons with an identity crisis (see also: LMGs) will never feel good enough as the game is currently designed. Bungie wants them to be "survivalist" weapons, but the best way to survive combat is to make builds that detonate rooms while healing constantly. Glaives don't do this and likely never will.
-
To me the reasons glaives arent fun to use. Is because the strongest aspect of glaives are when you litteraly dont use the glaive. Shielding is op, and half perks are about it. Shooting with glaives feels bad and IS bad, and the remaining perks are about shooting. So...the funny part of a MELEE WEAPON is litteraly the worst. When i saw glaives i expected them to be true melee weapons like swords are. But nah we have a boring projectile weapon with an OP shield... So i guess if we want a true new melee weapon we will have to wait for shields. So they can deal huge melee damage, have good melee dmg perk, and a weak blocking ability ?

I just want their melee attack to be considered elemental.
-
Haha glaives lmao, bungie really needs to buff them

Edited by IAGNRG: 4/28/2024 10:46:20 AMWould love a perk that changes the melee to be elemental. I’ve asked for this since the beginning.

I main glaives (recently ive been using a lot of indebted kindness tho). I wish we could use our powered melee with them. I have powered\unpowered melee assigned to different buttons. It makes no sense that i cant use my powered melee. It also seriously messes with strand grapple. I just dont want a glaive rework. I love them how they are.
-
How about we fix the bugs first? Trying to use a glaive and grapple at the same time is a nightmare. Or if you Umbral dive or Strand dive while holding a glaive, it will often break and be unable to shoot for several seconds.
-
They should make all glaive like winterbite and make it to where the melee attack deals elemental damage as long as you have ammo. I think that would be a good compromise and it should work with subclass fragments and aspects

Man
Man - old
I want to be able to parry hive knights 🗿 -
Who even use glaive?
-
No I don't think so
-
I have a Trials Glaive that rolled with Replenishing Aegis (blocking damage reloads glaive) that also has Voltshot. It's be sweet if the Reload from Replenishing would proc Voltshot.
-
I'm not a big glaive fan, and I've no doubt that's mostly because they feel disjointed, with how the perks work. More perks working more fluidly would be good.
-
i just want them to fold when they are on our backs
-
Glaives will always be -blam!- if they don’t work with the melee fragments of a subclass. And then when they would work, if Bungie decided to make that happen, glaives would probably be too strong then. In the end, I’ve stopped giving a -blam!- about glaives a long time ago, just like Bungie has.
-
Maybe I’m in the minority, honestly not even a maybe it’s a probably, but I never cared for glaives being introduced and wouldn’t bat an eye if they stopped making them.
-
Agreed, considering they insist on making melee build useless with boss stomps, exploders everywhere, and ridiculous physics.
-
Unrelenting did work with melee kills back when glaives came out
