How is this not the worst way to intro new maps?

I admit I am not great in Crucible. In skill based I am a 1.3 efficiency at best and that feels right to me. I have some fun, I play the objectives -- it works. But, "Hey, here's some new maps and a quest, but you who suck have to play the best for at best 6 matches, probably should budget 12 matches of getting stomped, and this means you should keep playing Crucible"? What was everyone thinking here?

  • I'm boycotting it. I'm not a fan of 3 vs 3. Make some larger maps or release these in other game modes!!!!! Bungo....so out of touch

    • I jumped in last night just for the rewards. I didn't realize it was trials.....well, it seemed like it. First game we got stomped by an obvious cheat flashing his/her flawless memorabilia, and after reporting, got the usual bs msg saying "we'll finding you a better match" or whatever. Second match, we were put against the [b]same [/b][b]team[/b], so I reported again and left the match. Something I hate doing. Third match, the 2 players on my team left, so I lost that one. It was ok after a shaky start and I got my reward, but as the OP states,why on earth introduce new maps in this way? My only conclusion is that Bungie was testing their handywork in the environment that attract the elite top percentage sweats, i.e, trials and comp, to see if the new maps would be a success in these modes. Surely if the maps were put into regular 6v6, most PvP players would experience them and maybe give a better response, because all I've seen is negative feedback.

      • I'm just not going to participate in Bungie's going back on promises yet again. They promised a map "pack" months and months ago. Then it turned into three maps. Three maps is not a pack just like three wolves is not a pack. I wouldn't have even minded if they had imported some of the better maps from D1. Then when it finally comes time to drop the "pack" it's walled behind 3v3 modes the Bungie knows most people don't actually enjoy and it requires a grind to unlock them. That's just bad game management. I've seen nothing yet that even shows they are actually trying to make a better game.

        • We were thinking it's six matches you absolutely do not HAVE to play. Then we were thinking "oh these new maps are alright, not at all on the garbage tier with Disfunction and others." Then we were thinking, wow, that's over. Yay loot. Like it's really not that deep, and not at all required. If you're having a bad time, leave. It's better than getting no playlist and no extra comp weapon drops IMO.

        • The PvP Strike Team's vision of Crucible is way out of line with anything I find enjoyable. We're back to a double primary meta because special is scarce and it's challenging to cover both long range and short range effectively w/o ammo. Ability regen is slower. You rarely can earn a roaming super in most matches, effectively eliminating various choices from the sandbox completely. The new maps were introduced w/o SBMM so sweats could stomp and everyone else can feel the boot. "Welcome, new players, to our new PvP maps". Oh, and MnK feels like -blam!- compared to Forsaken era. I hate the way crucible plays now.

          • 3v3 comp modes are definitely not a good way to introduce the maps. Went in to have some fun just to get sweat try hards every game.

          • The new map pack I have to say are enjoyable. They are fast paced and just what PvP needs. If you struggle in PvP there’s always others out there that are willing to help and teach you better ways to play in PvP.

          • OMG, I thought I was the only one that was not having fun on the new maps. I guess I wasn't crazy after all. I'm just like you, mediocre at best, and I like 6 vs 6 and mostly play control matches. I absolutely hate the direction crucible has been going as of late. Ability spam, sweaty showoffs, supremacy crap where I can't get full satisfaction for my kills unless I make a run for the crests and its just worse in 3 vs 3 elimination because you can't get back in there and try again. I was hoping for new 6 vs 6 maps that would reinvigorate the whole idea of what I enjoy in the crucible. Iron banner and big teams. Mostly gunplay and one super per match for everyone.

              Just leave and search for the map you still need to do. Show bungie how a quest can mess it all up

              • worst bungie idea ever of introducing new maps, I get ppl leaving matches at start for quest because it was not the right map, well i did the same. Also there should not be survival in quickplay matches

                Honestly, the lack of SBMM is kinda wild. I’ve played a lot of teams that really don’t seem like they belong in the crucible

                • The maps are great for 3v3s. On the flip side it is horrible for 6v6. How can a company make great 3v3 maps but not pay any attention to 6v6 maps?

                  • Now they’ve trumped this too. Cancelled trials because errr… 3 new maps. If only they’d hire people based on their character and skills needed to do a job competently.

                    First disagree this was fun. Second goal was to introduce new maps and competitive play styles. Both which I like. Bungie Labs group was used which should have been a clue. Bungie has stumbled time and again to make the learning curve easier. They could do better to labeling so to fix the casuals or newbies expectations. The new quest may have mislead many. Hope to see this in comp.

                    • This new playlist raises in even bigger question: What are those CBMM-loving sh!tters smoking? This playlist is a testament to how bad CBMM is and why its not the solution to PvP’s problems.

What was everyone thinking here?[/quote] What’s worse is if you suck like I do in PvP, you get team mates pming you about how bad you stink because you never actually play…I was only there for the loot! Oh yeah that was a great time Bungie - got any more bright ideas?

                          I had the opposite feeling, I had like a 16.00 KD when playing the new maps, went back to comp to be arround 2.4 KD :) edit: Random message at the end of a match: "Hahahahahhahaa. Fŭçķ off back to comp you tryhard ẃàɲƙşťăın̈"
