About upcoming Shadowkeep + Beyond Light free campaigns and 2024 Legacy Collection

I want to first note that I already own every DLC + Add On, such as 30th Anniv. and Dungeon Keys, etc. Reading today's TWID, I was insanely delighted to read that the full campaigns and Stasis subclass from Shadowkeep and Beyond Light will continue to be absolutely free when Final Shape launches on June 4th. This is something the community has been pushing for, for a very long while now, amid other issues about DLCs and Add-Ons in the Steam/Epic/PS/Xbox store pages. Not only that, but we will FINALLY have a fully comprehensive, singular massive pack listed in these stores called the Legacy Collection 2024, which includes EVERY DLC and Add-On such as the 30th Anniversary, including everything from Shadowkeep to Lightfall. Finally, new players who will like the game enough to delve into all the DLCs will have a non-confusing and (hopefully) appropriately-priced bundle, setting them up for adventure and success. However. I was majorly disappointed to see the TWID immediately state afterwards, that to FULLY access everything in Shadowkeep and Beyond Light (the newly free expansions), you can purchase their according Packs, similar to the existing Forsaken Pack. Locked behind these Packs are Exotic Weapons and Armor, Nightfalls, Dungeons, and Raids. Choosing whether or not to let these DLCs remain paid or free is a decision I leave entirely to the company concerning their profit needs, but should they remain paid or free, they should be FULLY locked in either state, rather than this partial nonsense. What this Pack concept unlocks is a deceptive way to milk player's wallets for even more money, should they choose to progressively purchase DLCs and Add-Ons separately from the upcoming Legacy Collection. Not only that, but the fact that this upcoming Collection also lists the new Shadowkeep and Beyond Light Packs as specific items in the bundle is disgusting to me, as I believe it will lead to a higher overall price tag. Refer to my example below for why I find this problematic: Which sounds more expensive? This: Destiny 2: Lightfall Destiny 2: The Witch Queen Destiny 2: Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack Or this: Destiny 2: Lightfall Destiny 2: The Witch Queen Destiny 2: Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack Destiny 2: Beyond Light Pack Destiny 2: Shadowkeep Pack Destiny 2: Forsaken Pack I believe for the sake of both attracting and retaining players, the best move would be to FULLY release Shadowkeep + Beyond Light in their entirety, including the Forsaken Pack, into the free domain. Let's be honest here. Who, among the committed veteran player base, is running nightmare hunts? Empire hunts? Even Garden of Salvation or Pit of Heresy?? While the last two examples are certainly popular raids and dungeons, I don't even need to check any analytics to know they are still the least played in their categories. The most dipped-into things by veteran players between SK+BL is Stasis, Prophecy, and Deep Stone Crypt. The places we actually spend MOST of our time are within Witch Queen and Lightfall. If anyone wants to rebuttal with saying "well it's not fair new players get to have access to all these exotics for free" then remember that purchasing DLCs doesn't simply unlock their exotics, but rather unlocks the opportunity to earn them through work. And for accessing other content for free, let me remind you that the experiences in Shadowkeep are nearly FIVE years old, and the content from Beyond Light is nearly FOUR years old. These guys are ancient by contemporary standards. You could argue back by saying that Skyrim has still seen re-releases 10 years post-release being sold at AAA prices, but the difference is that Skyrim is vastly more influential than Shadowkeep and Beyond Light. Even as a veteran player, I value the new player onboarding experience because I want them to experience this game I love, and not be turned around by confusion or unreasonable prices. But it's ridiculous how many times I've heard the "why do they charge so much for so many different things" line is ridiculous. The game's store page for DLCs and Add-Ons should look like this: -30th Anniversary Pack -Witch Queen -Lightfall -Final Shape -Final Shape + Annual Pass -Dungeon Key (This key unlocks BOTH Witch Queen and Lightfall dungeons) -Annual Pass (Final Shape) -Legacy Collection 2024 (Includes 30th Ann. + WQ + LF + Dungeon Key) This is clear, and understandable. We have segmented listings, and a comprehensive bundle. I even put my Bungie hat on and listed the Dungeon Key as separate from WQ + LF, because hey, we need profits to keep the lights on. Plus, knowing Sony's Japanese style of running business, and my time spent in Japan, that they are much less-inclined to make things like this so convoluted for consumers. I know Annual Passes achieve the same thing as Dungeon Keys, but the difference is that Annual Passes unlock seasons/episodes too, but the seasons from WQ + LF are vaulted anyway. The store page should NOT include: -Forsaken Pack -Shadowkeep -Shadowkeep Pack -Beyond Light -Beyond Light Pack If wallets are still stopping players from onboarding at that point, that is a concern of the consumer and not the company. I'm not discussing prices here, just how the products are listed. Prices will be set by what the company needs are, and I am not to speak for them. But as a consumer deciding what I want to invest my time and money into, it needs to be clear, fair, and interesting. Free access to Shadowkeep and Beyond Light will pull them in much better than gatekeeping their "full" content. Plus, they should be fully free, considering their stories between campaigns and dungeon/raid experiences weren't really all that impressive versus WQ or the experiences in LF (but not the LF campaign, yuck). Prevent the runarounds, or possibility that someone will buy a DLC, and then later buy a bundle that also included their already-purchased DLC too. Sell things as single units, and don't have confusing partial-releases. Make it so that when Final Shape releases and I tell my new player friends that Witch Queen isn't vitally relevant in 2024/25, that they won't feel stupid when they do buy it eventually, either as part of a bundle or by itself. And make it so that if people buy the Legacy Collection 2024 and Final Shape together, they feel absolutely ready to go deep in this game. Besides this, I sincerely do appreciate the weekly bangers coming from Bungie on the road to Final Shape, from gameplay, to story developments, to quality of life, to the new player experience, and to community communication. Final Shape is looking to be incredible, even if it is being crafted this way out of necessity for the company to fix public opinion. It shows that you are still capable of listening and responding to feedback. But if you want to close out this saga with a bang while kicking off a successful future, you NEED to bring as many people with you as you can. Oh yeah, and unvault Red War through Forsaken, please.

I'm just curious if i'll still retain access to the fishing. I already own BL, Shadowkeep, WQ and even LF, but I picked them up on steep sale just in the past few months. I never bought Season of the Deep. And frankly I know people dogged it, but I actually really like the fishing and would love to retain access to it.
