Onslaught Veteran old

I'm free from the Onslaught grind, afterthoughts

I have officially collected all the PVE and PVP rolls I wanted of each and every Brave Arsenal weapon. That includes: PVE and PVP rolls of Midnight Coup, Blast Furnace, Elsie's Rifle, Luna's Howl, Recluse, and Hammerhead. PVP rolls of Succession and Hung Jury. PVE rolls of Falling Guillotine, Forbearance, and 2 Edge Transits (one BnS and one Deconstruct) and 2 Mountaintops (one for movement, one for actually shooting things). 2 of these guns are shinies. Grinding out all of these took a bit of 10 wave farming, until the recent changes to drops. After the changes I ran at least one 50 wave run on Legend every day. It was quite a bit of grinding, and certainly more than I would expect your average casual to be willing to do. During these runs it seemed to me like attunement was working fine. When attuned the majority of my drops were the attuned weapon. We're talking from all sources: playlist milestones, match rewards, and spending tokens at the chest. For me attunement seemed to have the least impact when turning in tokens. Shiny drop rates were all over the place. I'd go 3-4 runs without seeing one. Sometimes I'd get 1-2 in a run. Then other times I'd but a query jackpot, like yesterday I got 5 shines in a single legend run. The majority of my shinies came from activity rewards and milestones. A couple came from turning in tokens, but those were very few and far between. Perks seem weighted on all guns. This just might be cope, but I feel like I saw the same columns 3/4 perk combos [b]a lot[/b]. Much more than I would expect if all perks had the same chance to drop. I obviously can't prove weighting, but something definitely [i]feels[/i] off. Anyway, I think attunement works fine. Shiny drops rates are all over the place, but I wish attunement would improve the odds of getting a shiny version of your attuned weapon if only slightly. If perks are not being weighted it would surprise me and I wish Bungie would look into it. As far as the activity itself I feel like certain types of enemy spawns shouldn't happen on certain rounds. I can't tell you how many runs ended when Demolitionists appeared with either Cured Thrall and Ogres or Heavy Shanks and Exploding Shanks. Pair that with enemies that [i]still[/i] teleport to the ADU and you wind up with a situation where the players feel like there was nothing they could do to save the wave, even with hard meta loadouts. Invisible Vandals ignoring defenses and dropping approximately 542 spider mines also isn't particularly fun or engaging. Beyond those kind of BS, no win situations, the difficulty of Legend seems fun and appropriate. Monthyards is a terrible map, strictly because of middle point that's between the planes. Enemies ignore defenses and the tripmines being inside the ADU damage radius makes so exploding enemies can sometime insta-merc the point. All in all I've enjoyed Onslaught, even if I've almost burnt myself out grinding. I'm doing legend carries to get people in my clan their emblem this weekend and I'm looking forward to playing without having to be a loot goblin at the same time.

  • It's been like a month of grinding onslaught and the forbearance god roll of ambitious and chain reaction has not dropped for me. I don't think attunement works and is actually bad because is not randomizing the perks. I either get chain reaction and demolitionist or wellspring all the time. I've giving up on the grind for all these weapons, is not worth it. Bungie actually wants players to go INSANE grinding onslaught for god rolls. No thank you...I'm done! And the rate of shiny weapons is too low... so attunement is actually TRASH! Bungie also keeps increasing the difficulty on onslaught....I actually hate onslaught now because I grinded the activity so much and I still don't have god rolls on many of the weapons. I'm done with onslaught...I'm sure lots of players feel the same.
