I mean, the guy only wants perfect 5/5 rolls for the meta and doesn't seem to plan around edge cases, backups, or potential buffs/nerfs so of course he's going to scream about how you need to delete that 4/5 roll you got to drop after a full day of farming without anything better coming along.
Destiny is his job. He has the time and incentive to throw away near perfect weapons and armor rolls because he'll play enough to statistically see the exact thing he wants to drop.
I don't know why anyone lets him comb through their vault to trash things except as a meme.

Part of it is the bit, but if you have ever seen a Datto cleaning, he is always talking about reducing redundancy witch is unneeded, along with getting rid of weapons you never use, or haven’t used in a long time and don’t plan on using. As for his methodology for what stays and what goes once the above has been cleared, I don’t know. I have my own methodology that I use 2 of each element per archetype per type of weapon: 1 PvE 1 PvP Sub divide PvE and PvP into there specific roles. Is it for Damage. Is it for Addclear. If you have a solar GL. One for Damage and One for Addclear, but they are the same GL and same Energy type, keep both, as there purposes are different. If you never use the Addclear version, and prefer using something else for Addclear, use that preferred option instead, and dismantle the Addclear GL.

If you had Datto clean your vault during the Particle Reconstruction days, he would have had you clear everything that wasn't a fusion rifle. I understand the point of clearing out things that are just worse copies of other things you already have (though sometimes they're at least a different element so they can be used on a different build), but my overall point is that it's easy for him to just up and toss anything that isn't an obvious 5/5 godroll because he'll just farm an encounter with his guaranteed team for 3 days until he gets it.
