Basically, title.
Onslaught is clearly very fun, and honestly a massive achievement for the devs to create on such short notice. However, with Onslaught now being 3 weeks old, we've fought our fair share of Hive and Salvation Fallen by now.
For some, this mode is only Hive, since you face less gimmicks when fighting Hive than you do Fallen. It's common practice for fireteams to exit the activity then re-enter when they see Fallen. Hive waves are not only easier to control, but even Hive bosses are largely easier to fight than their Fallen counterparts.
I do remember seeing in the Into the Light livestreams that in Onslaught, the attacking enemy race would change every 10 waves. Was this for presentation purposes? Possibly. But I think it would be a nice addition to the overall gameplay of Onslaught if we were greeted by a different enemy faction after defeating the previous boss of the last 10 waves. It would keep things fresh in terms of gameplay.
Now, it's not all too likely Onslaught will be receiving any further gameplay updates until post-TFS. Since as of currently, we only seem to be faced with 2 forces of the Witness. I'd expect the inclusion of other Witness-aligned factions to appear in Onslaught after TFS. Since I believe Shadow Legion Cabal, Sol Divisive Vex, and Scorn would greatly fit this activity. We all seem to be getting burnt out on fighting the same two factions.
The real reason we haven't seen any gameplay updates is probably that Bungie's devs are focusing on making TFS the best it can possibly be, as well as preparing the Episodes coming soon after TFS's release.
Onslaught honestly has a lot of potential to grow, and I hope Bungie plans to polish it and build upon it down the line.
P.S. Where is my Prime Servitor Boss BUNGIE
