Recently I only have done two dungeons and nothing else unfortunately, I'm mostly a solo player since I don't really have many friends that play D2 so I do with what I can in the game. It does make me Kinda annoyed seeing those really cool titles for the Patheon raid, that'll I never get given I have yet to do any raid before, and knowing if I was to go in a LFG to only get lost and make myself look bad in the process.

I'd be more than happy to lend a hand, I'm not one of those people who live in a raid but I know the ins and outs of every one (expect garden, that one sucks) It doesn't take much to learn encounters and I didn't actually fully understand the planets encounter of root of nightmares until Pantheon forced me to. Biggest thing to remember, it's just a game. No one really cares if you mess up as long as you're learning and not repeating mistakes.

I raid. A LOT. Like...probably too much. Best advice? Don't take it seriously. It's a game. When I sherpa in raids I tell people, "Look...it's a game. And your first run. It's okay to be anxious, but we're here to game and have fun. Make mistakes. Ask questions. Try new things. That's how you learn and grow. I was there too, so just know you're not alone." Are there players that can just pick something up and be an ace at it immediately? Yep. Is that EVERYONE? Nope. Patience is key.

If you want I can teach you Deep Stone Crypt sometime. It’s what I spend 90% of my time doing in this game and I love doing it. Hit me up sometime!
-
I can help you with dungeons and hopefully raids in the future.

Edited by Zodleon: 5/20/2024 11:35:53 AMI've done hundreds of raids before have one of the best raid titles "shadow" and am not gonna bother with the pantheon ones bc I don't care, have all the guns, have all the titles I want, more emblems than I'll ever use, some of them actually rare. You're well within your rights to come here and complain, but it's completely pointless, buckle your ****ckles and do it, or don't and accept that that's the decision you made. The only thing to be annoyed at here imo is you at yourself for being too afraid to go for something you obviously want, and might only cost you some embarrassment to complete strangers.

As a person who has done every raid in the game: We all look stupid sometimes. I still to this day screw up on a mechanic and cause a team wipe. Just how it goes. Don't worry about looking bad, or if your loadout sucks. Find a lfg, or make your own asking for teachers to help guide you through. People who teach raids are usually quite patient, comes with the territory. To be direct: Give it a try, go for it and if you don't know what to do, ask for help, teaching, loadout questions? Ask, I do this a lot still.

A piece of advice from someone who has done raids, but not very many: don't stress over looking bad, everyone had to learn and looked bad at some point or another. "The only man who doesn't make mistakes is the man who never does anything." -Theodore Roosevelt.

Before this season, I had only attempted a handful of dungeons and never completed one. Now as a solo player, who is probably socially awkward and quiet, because of the in game Fireteam Finder, I have been able to complete some dungeons and two full raids, along with other things like exotic quests. All content I try, I will find posts that say: don’t need a mic, and list of tags such as; chill, first time friendly, offering help, let’s play together, and other such ideas. It’s been cool completing some of these game modes and getting the rewards I never felt I was skilled enough to get before. I would really encourage players like yourself to try the in game FTF. I found a lot of chill guardians out there, who don’t mind helping you out. Good luck to all Guardians!

As for dungeons and other endgame content (I do some raid Sherpas but not many) I am happy to help you improve your game play, learn the mechanics and give you advice on load outs and builds. I mainly help with dungeons, GMs, exotic missions and quests. If you use Twitch or Discord - you can find me on either. Feel free to drop me a DM

Tired of fake a$$ peaople - old
I sent you a message -
I used to raid all the time with my old clan back in D1. Now with my anxiety I just keep to myself. Every now and then I'll team up with my son and his friends but not for raids.
-
Everyone has to start somewhere. Watch YouTube or ask a friend to teach you.
-
Just lfg raids are soo scary to people for no reason, if you have basic logical skills you can learn a raid encounter in 1-3 tries. Easiest raids to start with would be root of nightmares, vault of glass, deep stone crypt or last wish but that one can be a bit confusing. Have fun
-
I used to do all raids in destiny 1 every week, i have completed one raid in destiny 2. I did stop playing for 4 years though, returned last summer, only completed 2 dungeons too
-
it was a year of playing destiny before l did a raid. then ran everyone once just to try them. unfortunately l didn't like the mechanics ,made for a boring time. they should of had a option with or without mechanics and MM for none mechanics . it would of opened up worlds of content and the game would of cashed in big time. honestly can't figure why bungie didn't think of this.

People who do raids are usually engaged with the community. That’s why here or on Reddit, the majority of players have done most things. Most players aren’t on here and most of them haven’t done a raid or dungeon. Watch a few guide videos on YouTube and then join an LFG (bonus points for a post tagged with “willing to teach”). Raids and dungeons are some of the best content in gaming.
-
Key to doing raids is ditch the solo stick and start LFG. Look for the right post and keep being relentless. Eventually you will succeed.
-
I have not really done any of the raids in D2 because I do not care for raids in general. You should not feel bad over having no raid clears. If you are worried about failure, then do the following: create a Fireteam Finder post with First Time in the description. Allow anyone to join. You won't finish the raid and guess what? Those who join will be the same or worse than you. So what is there to worry about? Nothing. Continue creating these posts and running useless raids. Eventually you will KWTD because experienced speed runners will respond to your posts, and later you can join the teams with experienced players without fear of failure. As an example, when the Crota raid was released some months ago I did what I told you above. None of the teams got far in the raid. But did I care? Nope. It is just a game, not real life where you have to worry about decisions you make at your job. Now get off these forums, create that post, and don't worry about the potential outcome.
-
The clan recruitment page is full of "never done a raid before, come join us" posts.
-
I used to be a regular raider Untill I took an arrow to the knee
-
The raid community in this game are a bunch of speed freaks obsessed with damage number, lol. A far cry from D1.
-
I have done Vault of Glass. Once. In two sittings.
-
I barely get time to, and when I do me and my friend and I get distracted so stupidly, might try in the summer
-
I had a couple bad experiences attempting Last Wish with a clan. Now I only LFG content that I’m already familiar with.
