Community Focus - Ekuegan

Aug 9, 2017 - Cozmo_BNG

Our focus this week is a dedicated guide who spends his days helping others find their way through some of Destiny’s most challenging content. He welcomes those who have not yet had the chance to complete a Raid and leads them through the encounters.  He’s a teacher who passes along tactics and strategies to others on the best way to down bosses and claim their loot. He’s also a streamer who lets you share these teaching moments live as they happen. You can even join in if you like.

Now take a seat and listen to Professor Ekuegan.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your role in the Destiny Community.

EK: Hi, my name is Ekuegan, people call me EK or Keegan. When it comes to Destiny, you can find me in PVE. I also enjoy the Crucible. But there's just something about Raids, I love the feeling of gathering a team and seeing it being successful. Another is the feeling I get when I help someone finish it and hear their reactions. I was lucky enough to have over 3000+ completions on my accounts and others that I personally helped.

Wow! That is a lot of Raid completions. Where can we find you on the internet?

EK: The best places to find me is on Twitch, my Twitter and now I am working on my YouTube.

Let’s see what kind of Guardian you are. What is your favorite Subclass and weapon?

EK: My favorite subclass has to be the D1 Titan Striker. If you find me in crucible, most likely a Golden Gun is coming for you. I’m pretty sure a few learned when I was the Bungie Bounty. Any of my regulars will tell you that 96% of the time there is a Lord High Fixer in my Guardian's hands. It's a beauty of destruction and it just feels right in my hand.

Thanks for being brave enough to put a target on your back as a Bungie Bounty. How did you first get into streaming?

EK: Crota's End first got me into streaming. It felt really good helping the people who could not get Gjallarhorns or the kinderguardians who no one would help. My friends asked me why I kept doing it over and over again. My answer was the feeling that I got back being able to see the reactions once we completed.

It’s always a good feeling when you help someone else. What kind of content can we expect to see on your channel?

EK: On my channel, you can definitely expect to see a lot of Raids, goofy moments, but overall it’s just a relaxed atmosphere. I do my best to break down each encounter and what weapons/abilities or substitutes would fit the situation. It's almost as if it was a Raid class for others to learn and grow. Even in Crucible, you will watch some funny and intense moments. I enjoy both sides of the game, I just enjoy Raids more.

Raid class is in session. You got to spend some time in the Destiny 2 Beta. What did you think?

EK: I think the beta was amazing. It definitely feels like a brand new game to me. I wish I got to do more with PVE for sure, PVP became very repetitive for me, the Farm looked amazing. I cannot wait to see the Strikes, the social spaces and locations.

Anything else you would like to add before we wrap up?

EK: This game has brought me a lot of happiness, bonds, friendship, incredible and priceless moments. I cannot wait to see what the sequel brings me.

We’re glad to hear you’ve had great experiences in Destiny over the last 3 years. We look forward to hearing what stories you will tell about Destiny 2 starting next month.

We want to thank Ekuegan for sitting down to share his story with us. Make sure you check out his stream. You can ask him to help you out with any Raids you haven’t got to do yet, or join him for some new content when Destiny 2 launches.

We’re already on the hunt for our next Community Focus will be. If you would like to suggest someone, post their name on Community forum with the #CommunityFocus tag and why you think they should be in the spotlight.
