PvP Variant (No Exotics Variant)
I love this game but we all know how annoying it can be to jump into the crucible or Trials and get your shit kicked in by Thorn, The Last Word, Gjallahorn, or those rare and talented No Land Beyond users. Not to mention all of those pesky Exotic armor pieces. Think of a playlist that has everything we know about PvP just with the intentional lack of Exotics, yeah? Sounds great right? Of course it does. This playlist wouldn't be necessarily hard to create either, it'd work similar to how trying to play Trails without a Passage Coin would be. You wouldn't be allowed to start matchmaking, and don't get too worked up because it's not like the Vanilla PvP playlists would go anywhere. Let me know your thoughts on the idea, wether you think it's a good or bad one.
A little disclaimer for those hard headed people, yes I have Thorn and The Last Word maxed, yes I can use them. They just get old to play with real fast.

Not sure I could agree more, I too have most of the "broken" pvp weapons, and in all honesty I rarely start pvp with out red death equipped and thorn on stand-by. I hate that I have to use this formula to be competitive. I hate thorn as it is, and I know 2.0 is gonna nerf it a bit, but I think the easiest thing to do would be to just add the words "minion of darkness" to all the exotics unique abilities i.e. restore health and increase reload speed every time you kill... a minion of darkness. Boom. Thorn causes persistent damage to ... minions of darkness. Did I just blow your mind? If this were to never actually happen then yes a PVP mode that was completely free of exotics would be amazing. I would say it would be a truer showing of skill. Sure there are a few legendary weapons that are broken as well but the gap on those with and those without I'd imagine are far less annoying. So, yeah "minions of darkness" talk about it get others talking about it maybe we can have an influence.
