It was Saturday. I was scouring the forums and LFG sites to look for someone to assist me in reaching the Lighthouse. Suddenly, I see someone on an LFG site who might be able to help me in my quest for flawless. For now, let's call him LL. Anyways, I send him the typical message, requesting an invite, which goes like this (for me, at least): "34 Titan for ToO".
Fast forward to today. He sent me a message, asking, "What, is that a cheat code or something?". Confused, I shot another message his way, asking him what he meant by that. He repeated his question. It was then that I exclaimed, "No, I'm a 34 Titan looking to do ToO," hoping that he would understand. He then invited me to a party and to his fireteam, and I accepted. he immediately also invited his friend. I thought we were about to go do some trials.
That's when I saw it. He was a level 7 Titan. At the Gunsmith. Speaking to his friend about how good some of the guns the Gunsmith was selling were. At first, I thought he was just playing on a new character and would switch to the new one. Until, of course, he told his friend, "This guy is going to give me a level 34 Titan for 2!" I realized what I had just walked into. To make sure, I asked him if that was his highest level character. He confirmed my suspicions.
Finally, I explained to him that that was impossible, I found him by accident, and that there was no trading system in this game. I left shortly afterwards, going about my day. I did not make this post to make fun of the new players that have already begun flooding the tower, but rather to show that it is our duty as the people who have played this game for a year to guide them and show them what they can/can't do.
TL;DR- We should help the new guys. Most won't know what we do.

Meh, I'm done with the "little guys" Bungie is already spoon feeding them everything *cough* Gjallarhorn *cough*. Plus, they have a much better environment to start off then we did on day one. In the early stages of the game you were at the mercy of RNGsus if you wanted to be level 30. Pretty soon they will be able to reach level 25 instantly and not have to even play through the sad excuse of a story. They will be fine
