This is What Bungie will do about the false bans
At this point if Bungie admits fault for these false bans a second time they will create a PR nightmare for themselves because of already having to roll back the first set of false bans. Instead what they will do is fix the issue in thier ban protocols or whatever and move forward. They will never apologize or unban anyone.This way we all look like cheaters to the general community and they only lose us as players. So to all my fellow sacrificial lambs (those who were falsely banned) sorry. I would love to see the legal ramifications of this, but alas I am not a lawyer nor do I play one on TV.

I really really enjoyed your game...I have all your games going back to Halo Combat Evolved. I've been such a fanboy that I never ever saw any wrong in what you did. You were perfect. You and Blizzard were my 2 favorite game developers. When you guys partnered I rejoiced. When Destiny 2 came out and every youtube video I saw talked about how bad the game was I defended you and convinced some people along the way to buy Destiny 2. How did you return by blind love??? By banning me without any justification.
To all those who feel Bungie doesn't care about thier customers there are only a few things left to do.
1. Speak out against Bungie to everyone you know. Encourage them not to buy or play Bungie products.
2. Upvote comment (not spam) on every post about the ban so that it stays visual here and on reddit.
3. Share every article about the ban so that the news outlets will continue to report on it.
4. Let's go play something made by a company that cares about the player base.

1 ReplyBungie's biggest mistake was putting the franchise on PC when they can't even fix half of the issues plaguing consoles. They lost all credibility a long time ago, and in most places they are nothing more than a running joke. Their devs are too far up their own ass that they refuse to admit anything has gone wrong on their end, and then go around blaming the players. Anyone with even the slightest knowledge about game development and networking knows how much Bungie bullshit their way out of their incompetence. Actually, even people without that knowledge know it, too.

More reason to push for chargebacks for legit false ban claims. When investors get news of mass chargebacks Bungie may make things right. Looking at what other players have seen it looks as if it's some type of software coming from a legit vendor like Asus that's causing the false positives. I only say that because it appears that 95% of the users banned have Asus hardware of some type.

1 ReplyThey'll go back to copypasting the same BS about bans being absolute and perfectly investigated every time while pretending they haven't twice already had to come out and admit some of the bans were wrongful. And you'll notice that the first time they were specific, 4 in 400 got overturned, using the numbers to show how a 1% false positive rate counted as perfectly investigated and 100% for sure legit before they banned. (I even found it funny how when talking about it they said it wasn't automated but looked at 100% by people, and then when back-peddling essentially blamed it on bad automated processes) The second time however it was a very odd generic we investigated and overturned, um, some more bans, kthxbia. Which strongly indicates that the number of overturned bans was much much higher. High enough that admitting how many they overturned would have meant egg on their face. You will also notice that the whole time cozmo is still here telling people there's been no wrongful bans, no retraction, no apology for the accusations he leveled at people (or did he sneak one in with his tail between his legs and I missed it?). And now they have the gall to make another sweep of bans and go right back to "we're perfect and never make mistakes" Realistically people need to be fired for the wrongful bans, since as Bungie themselves have said, every single case is personally investigated. So there is a person/people directly responsible for each wrongful ban. And a screw up this big should carry consequences.

At this point, just I'm just recommending everyone I know to stay away from this game. There's no way to tell what will cause you to be flagged and what won't be and that's the worst thing to do. There's no reason to risk $100 on a game that will arbitrarily ban you without warning.

So I got banned because I play Divinity Original Sin 2 when not playing D2 with my friends, and I've used Cheat Engine to give myself some extra gold, but since I apparently didn't / forgot to shut down CE I've lost my $100 Dig Deluxe edition, and the extra $$ I've spent in micro-transactions? Guilty until proven innocent, much? I've been using these same "tools" I use on single player games, along side online games since Everquest in 1999. Never been banned from EQ, Blizz / WoW / OW / Hearthstone, countless online games... FFIV, Rift, Aion, Vanguard... etc. So why would I think I needed to shut them off? I'm the kind of guy you WANT playing your games. I'll buy your DLC, I'll spend $ on those micro-transactions... Just ridiculous.

4 RepliesDid you try to contact Bungie support privately after your ban to protest to your innocence? Do you have emails to/from the company regarding the ban? If you have truly been banned in error then pursuing rectification through the company's established processes should be step one. If you've done that, then verify your claims by showing the correspondence to/from the company regarding your ban. Without demonstrating the veracity of your claims you really have no case and you're simply rabble-rousing. I'm not dismissing your claim, merely pointing out that until you prove your claims and prove that you've done everything that can be reasonably expected of you to contest the ban, then you really don't have any justification for the outcry.

I'm really disheartened by all this personally. While it was utterly amazing this weekend it's left me pretty depressed and mad over the situation today. My old WoW guild moving along, posting destiny things in discord, and joking around (even made a discord rank 'ban' for me as a joke). As crazy as all of this is, I simply held out hope this would all be resolved and I could play after reset today again with all of them. I personally know I did not cheat, in any way, shape or form. I've read a lot of posts over these last week, and I'm not one of these 'I have debug software, but not for destiny' people. I have spent more time then I should trying to figure out what, if anything, I did (software or in game) to warrant even a false flag and I can not come to any conclusion. Not knowing why or having any type of dispute system in place is infuriating. I essentially paid $60+ for a game I could only play for two weeks. But at this point I'm doubting anything will be done about it and all my typing and bitching seems like a pointless endeavor. All I can say is I can promise you I didn't use any type of cheating application, didn't verbally abuse anyone in game, or mess with the games system files. I simple was banned, without notice, without recourse. And if it happened to me, I'm positive there are a lot more here it happened to.

This whole thing is unfortunate. Turning a good thing into a damned good reason to make a PSA on who not to give your money to on the internet. Where is that prideful refusal to consider being wrong even coming from? Grief, I advocated for this game for months.
