Why do you punish the player who gets kills? Please get rid of eruption.
EDIT: The actual problem is the wall hacks that the other team gets.

NO FUTURE - old
ERUPTION IS AWESOME It encourages people to actually engage eachother, personally I love the rush of being primed and having to rush into getting kills while people rush me,it’s exhilarating. -
Mad cuz bad I love the game mode it’s a nice change streaks also get u improved ability and super regen that’s why there is a down side it’s better then just people sitting in the back camping the hole game makes u move this has been the less sweaty then normal quick play
-
Make it so that you can CHOOSE what iron banner gamemode you want to play instead of being forced to play a bad game mode
-
U really crying about wall hacks in a game with intense radar that even tells u high or low cry more guys
-
Call of Duty had a similar mode in MW 2019 (or was it BOps Cold War?). It has not returned. Personally, I don't care for gimmicks in my PvP, which is probably why I don't like Crucible to begin with.
-
Why do you punish the player who gets kills? Please get rid of eruption.
That's how the game makes up for the people that aren't allowed to have kills.
-
This is one of those GameModes that seemed great on paper but failed in execution. The community as a whole has seem to hate it. Bungo take note.
-
if your best bet is to run off the map or just stand around until you blow up, it's a bad mode.
-
There's no "punishment"....it encourages a push for points. Don't like it?.....sit back n die and start a new 5 run - you're still banging out betterpojnt totals.
-
No. Its basically a much needed update to tired--blam!- 10 year old Clash. I've enjoyed Clash over the years......but Eruption is a nice change.
-
The former still sucks, it’s trash.

I disagree… it punishes campers…. They actually have to move…. It also punishes sweaty tryhards if you just hide from them … two big Ws in my book
-
I just like objective based game modes better. Matches tend to be more fun for me in control. With clash and eruption, I would argue that almost half of my matches (2 resets worth this Iron Banner) ended at time limit.
-
Mode is just poorly conceived. If you get on a good streak at the very beginning of the game, you auto win as you and your team unlock Mayhem Iron Banner. The game will probably seem close since the enemy gets so many points for shutting down people, but it doesn’t feel close when you’re getting constantly stomped by supers and abilities out of spawn. Conversely, it doesn’t feel good to start erupting in an even match as the enemy team ends up getting a ton of points off killing you, so it often becomes better for you to just let yourself die in the back, which isn’t fun. I think it could work if you reduce the ability regen gains and the points for defeating an erupting target while also making the wall hacks an occasional ping and not a constantly up thing (closer to holding the spark in Rift). I think the incentive to push is good but the amount it sways a match in either direction is a little too much.
-
I think its fine. With no wall hacks the games could get out of hand even faster than they do already.
-
To stop them from farming players who are not as skilled
-
The wall hacks problem? I agree. Incentivising player movement no matter how badly they want to camp at the back of the map with their team mates? Good. Eruption is better Clash. Clash is slow and campy because people know they can do that and get away with it. Eruption is much the same UNTIL players become primed. (Besides that, the whole game is a camp fest now thanks to team shooting). There's the problem of everyone snowballing with supers that could be toned back but otherwise it's still just better Clash.
-
Because you must keep the kill-chain going, or you die, more kills past the initial five means more points, go get your team some more points. Eruption is a mode of greed, feed the beast, harvest the living, tithe the dead.
-
I think it’d be fine if the wall hacks were removed (threadling spam in this mode is horrible as well)
-
Not to mention that once you get it rolling, it becomes easier and easier to just wreck the enemy team.
-
Probably seemed ok in bungLe's defective way of play testing when everyone plays the mode "like they are supposed to" In reality pretty much everyone just runs away and waits for the other player to blow - no teamwork at all. Doesn't help to get such a high % of citadel where you re-run the map from a ridiculous spawn point before you see anyone else.
-
Bungie is bent on reinventing the PVP wheel, but all their new modes are just trash. Players' reviews are overwhelmingly negative, but still they insist on their madness

Edited by wikked75: 1/6/2024 8:07:33 PMIts a ridiculous game mode. I dont like it… but its either that or team scorched for 6v6, which is even worse. Iron banner used to be awesome to me and my friends. Now its something tolerated to get extra powerfuls and pinnacles. I just want regular control or clash, not these niche experimental crap game modes they keep throwing at the wall hoping to get to stick, but thats just me.

Everything is fine with this mechanics. The mechanics of this mode do not punish players who want to collect kills, because the attacker gets a boost and more points for the team when attacking. Only those who prefer to sit in ambush receive punishment, although this mechanic will not be able to completely eliminate camping.

Punish? Bro you get extra ability and super energy. If you’re slaying you basically have 100% ability uptime.
