So I would like to start getting into a weekly routine for going to the gym. I'm trying to lose a little fat and gain a little muscle, but not too much. I just want to know, what is some good advice for someone who has never really used a gym before?

Swim laps if there is a pool. By the time you can swim a 300 without stopping youll be in shape. If u cant swim, hit a stair master with two free weights 5-10 lbs each. Cardio is the way to go if u just wanna slim down n not bulk up
