I think it’s “The Matrix” Clovis Bray.
This is why it is like Vex tech and Arc but not.
He probably did get his Vex Human network functioning in some way and now there is a version of Clovis like Neo inside trying to get out. He absolutely would not have any problems turning Eliksni into slaves/proxies for this and would definitely not call Guardians for help.
Plus unless Bungie has retconned the Lore The Awoken and The Nine are ORIGINALLY just Exodus ship crew members. Whatever happened to them (Clovis Experiments) that caused them to experience space and time the way they do is irrelevant in my mind. They were just people on Exodus ships that somehow through the collision of Light and Dark become what they are now.
Clovis’ name is everywhere in all this.
Not to mention in the Frontiers release screenshots those sure do look like Clovis Bray equipment INSIDE alternate universes. I say this cause in one there is clearly an early earth navy vessel in the background and that ain’t earth!
Idk I think just mentioning his name so many times in recent events is clear to me. Clovis is coming back… Mara and Savathûn will want to have a few words…

New secret dialog found in the dungeon. Confirms it for me. Clovis got his Vex Human network working and now there’s a digital Clovis who thinks he’s a God. 😂 “Hello, World.” Can’t wait to explore outside the galaxy and see the pocket dimensions he created.
I’d highly recommend reading Dust considering it doesn’t appear you have knowledge of what the Nine actually are. The disappearance of 9 Exodus Green crew members during the transition between our reality and the pocket reality that would become known as the Distributary appears to merely have been yet another primitive attempt at reaching out from these entities. Clovis Bray had no involvement in how the rest of the Exodus Green crew became Awoken, they weren’t subject to experimentation. They just so happened to land on the edge of Darkness as the Traveler retaliated, the clash of paracausal forces tearing reality apart as they were sucked in.

I laugh at theories that just throw out lore books like they don’t exist.

Also, as far as the nine go...plenty of theories out there. You have the nine grimoire lore card (which is my fav), I'm pretty sure one that deals more with the dark matter aspect but... I feel like it ties to a Clovis type thing...a test. He was looking into what the mind is and trying to define it...he created a baseline code for consciousness right? Without interference, no, that's present...Maya, and...not Osiris, he's kinda a sidekick on this one, to another as grand as the universe but always lesser. Anyways, they're like logics upon the universes design, they are the loop with perturbations (reverberations) that slightly alter their path, they are the stellar orbits, giaforms, disembodied consciousness'...but honestly maybe we will get more of them soon and get the answers we need. Again, I like this stuff, it's fun to see.
