White is my favourite colour and it annoys me when you talk to those people that are like
"Omg whites not a colour, it's just blank, it's just nothing"
How can it not be a colour? It's obviously a colour..
Technically you could argue that white is sort of the lack of colour since you can never can't mix colours to create it but it's still a colour of its own?
P.S I'm British so it's Colour not Color
-
Actually white is a mixture of all colours, black is the one void of colour, whoever said white was not a colour (or a mix of colour) is a retard
-
White and black are the absence of colour, they're impossible to see with the naked eye sorry
-
White is a tint not a colour.

Color.
-
First off white is all colours and black is the absence of all color, so technically you like all colours
-
It oppresses the other colours with it's unchecked privilege
-
Color*
-
So is chartreuse.

White is a color I know
sample text
When it comes to visual arts, white, black, and any greys are considered shades. White is the absence of colour and black is the culmination of all colours. When it comes to light, white is the culmination if all colours while black is the absence of colour/light. Overall, white is all colours and no colours while black is the same, just the vice versa of white. So neither are singular colours but rather the ends of the given spectrums.
-
But...it's every color technically...
-
It's a shade (?)
-
I see white as an absence of color
-
White is the combination of all colors. Conversely, black is the absence of color

Edited by ALBIN0 W00KY: 8/23/2015 8:22:42 PMEverything between white and black are considered shades, not colors. However, the only true colors are red, blue, and yellow. The other "colors" are actually mixtures of the true colors (green, cyan, orange, etc.) Now you must be thinking why there are so many so called "colors". That is partially due to even more mixtures and to that, the addition of shades. I know this because I payed attention in my 8th grade art class.

White is an absence of colour so take it how you want it i guess
-
It's tint
-
Its not a color, its a race.
-
It has every colour and is also counted as a shade so.. Idk.

Edited by DogChamp: 8/23/2015 8:17:37 PMWhite is actually every color combined. So no, it's not a color. By this I mean that it does not have it's own wavelength. The sun for example is white because it emits every visual wavelength of light. So technically and scientifically speaking it is not a color, but we can still call it a color. In addition I would like to say that white objects reflect/emit all colors, and black objects reflect/emit no colors. At least colors we can see.
-
It actually isn't a colour, just a shade
-
It's like when those adverts are all like "Makes your clothes 12 shades whiter" then they're not white they're grey
-
White is the presence of all colors. This differs from paint, because paint is pigment. Pigments are that which absorb color; I.E. not themselves colors. What a pigment does not absorb is reflected and generally perceived. White is a number of combinations of wavelengths. These combinations are indistinguishable from one another. A pigment absorbing enough wavelengths moves the perception away from white and toward black. Therefore, black and not white is the absence of color and the presence of all pigment. White and not black is the absence of pigment and the presence of all colors.

It's neither a colour or an absence of it ITS A GOD DAM SHADE SO QUIT ARGUING ABOUT IT!!!!
-
Im american and i spell it as "colour" and "armour" Also, as an artist, white is indeed a colour, in fact, it is the presence of all colours if I remember correctly, black is the absence of colour.
