It's the person behind the wheel that decides to run over somebody not the car itself. The same can be said about somebody using a gun. It's the individual that's the problem not the guns or cars.

How big are your boobs? ( •-•)
-
The problem here is guns are designed to kill stuff. That is their primary function. Cars are not designed to kill people (well, some safety issues are overlooked, still)
-
ROFLMAO! Cars are designed to transport you from a to b! Yes they can be used as a weapon but that's not their primary purpose! Guns? C- must try harder
-
I wish that were true... Yesterday, a bunch of monster trucks flattened my house and ate my family. I guess they were hungry. I'm hiding in a cave right now. I don't know what time it is, or how long I've spent in this god forsaken place. Monster trucks have an extremely acute sense of smell. It's only a matter of time until they pick up my scent and find me. THEY'RE GOING TO EAT ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CARS DEFINITELY KILL PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SAVE YOURSELF WHILE THERE'S STILL TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SAVE YOURSELF WHILE THERE'S STI
-
But are cars made for the purpose of killing? Nope.

Cars are regulated, you don't let anyone get behind a wheel, there is process you have to go through to be able to drive one. Guns anyone can buy one with no training or experience and minimal background checks and buy ammunition to go with it. In Australia, anyone can get a gun unless your background check finds you unsuitable (mental illness, history of violence etc.). To be legally about to buy and use one you must sit a test as well as a practical demonstration that you are able to use it safely and correctly. Your license posted out to you in a few months once everything is verified and then you can buy your guns. This lowers accidental deaths because of mishandling (shooting yourself or family) because you know how to take care of it. Criminals with get guns anyway so why not lower accidental deaths and make it harder for dangerous people to get guns. Also there is a reason assault rifles are called assault rifles, not protection rifles.

Edited by AStupidThing: 1/8/2016 1:03:07 AMBut we have driving tests, stop signs, lanes, speed limits, and other road safety requirements. If we had no road laws, people would be crashing and getting run over in mass.
-
People kill cars.
-
What if a car from the movie "Cars" hit someone? I agree with you on your gun logic too. People crying for increased gun control don't realize that if the person using a gun wasn't crazy or unfit to use one, murder wouldn't happen. Increasing gun control will only make it harder for law abiding citizens to get guns.
-
Hmm! I think you will find the difference is that cars are intended to be a mode of transport, and that deaths involving cars occur through improper use. Meanwhile, you can use a gun exactly as intended and designed, and cause plenty of death.
-
I don't think many people 'decide' to hit someone unless they're playing gta5 it's more likely that they are drunk or on their phone
-
Actually cars CAN kill people if they explode or some shit
-
- The purpose of a gun is to kill but can be used other wise it doesn't mean it's ok - The purpose of a pencil is to write with but can be used to kill with it doesn't mean it should be banned - T-shirts are used as clothes but it can be used to strangle someone it doesn't mean it should be used as weapons - A grenade is used to kill people but if someone used it to protect his home it doesn't mean it is the right choice it even acceptable - ... etc Now if if you still can't understand what i just wrote then you should be isolated as you are not capable of any sort of information processing .. and your brain capabilities are below animals. End of discussion

Good thing we have drivers tests to make sure the person won't go crazy in the cars. Although sometimes they may at one point if they get drunk or something
-
What does this have to do with the regulation of guns?
-
If a gun is unavailable, person can't kill with a gun.
-
I agree cars should be banned.
-
How do you stop a liberal from killing someone?
just tell them not to. That usually works!
-
Its not the car. Its the impact of the car, so physics is the culprit.

Edited by Flee: 1/6/2016 10:58:11 AMWhat a terrible argument, especially considering how traffic and vehicle regulations have demonstrably and significantly reduced car accidents and vehicle fatalities over the last century.
-
If you're one of the people who says "well if we're getting rid of guns, shouldn't we get rid of cars too?" then the answer is yes. You probably shouldn't be allowed to have a gun or a car.
-
Why does this retarded argument keep coming up?
-
There is no gun debate. Both side are required for a debate. The anti-gun people try this crap and talk to themselves I guess. American guns are not going anywhere. Millions of people who would rather start civil war 2 than give up our guns.
-
Try to run someone over without a car.
-
Great, lets make sure that everyone who has a gun is tested, licensed, and insures and registers their weapons.
