The nerf to ToM I can live with if there is an alternative Raid specific weapon lying in wait for the next expansion...Let's be clear.. why was ToM introduced? It wasn't for PvP although some have tried...Its application to Kings Fall just makes sense so we have to assume that's what it was intended for...(I might be completely wrong). Yeah sure there's other ways to do KF. My first completion was without it and we did fine. But once I got ToM what it did was give me confidence to team up with randoms and know that while I'm not a great player I could at least hold my own and feel like i contributed rather than was carried....there was also a sense of achievement after getting it..so the nerf is a slight slap in the face to all of that...I can live with that if there is something else that will also provide a similar advantage in the next raid. Otherwise it'll be a while before I would even be tempted to venture in that direction...

Edited by Zarahi Sunstrider: 9/13/2016 6:03:35 PMThe nerf kinda makes sense to me side note Black Spindle or Sleeper can destroy ogres just as fast if not faster even a sniper with triple tap will do. ToM isn't the only gun that can do it.
-
A much needed "fix". It was only intended to be used in the aura mostly. They had to do this, especially now, because blessings and ToM would likely make the expansion and new raid easier. Why have a TTK gun dominate ROI?
-
What I find most strange, is that they decided to change it now, just before the current raid is made obsolete. Where was this change months ago? It is not news that people have been doing this for quite a while now. I suspect that they are doing it prevent the use of it in the upcoming content.
-
They don't want a strategy to be ubiquitous. Any dps phase in any raid touch with Bol would be
-
It would have ruined an encounter in the next raid from what's been leaked.
-
I thought it was a pretty obvious decision. Or else ToM would just be abused in future raids/events.
-
It's perpetration for the new raid. If was a real problem it would been taken care of months ago
-
Edited by SebastienC: 9/9/2016 6:30:40 PMNo weapon patch would be truly complete without a nerf that Is 100% arbitrary; No one asked for; Affects PvE for no reason at all; Makes everyone go "wtf?"; Shits on a fun gun; Fixes a complete non-problem; Does the opposite of its stated goal. GG.
-
Really dumb nerf. I hope you're reading this, whoever pushed for this idea? Already starting to regret the pre-order.
-
Yup, it was being used to annihilate challenge of elder bosses to get high CoE times
-
Why nerf the ToM/BoL combo now? ROI is out soon. Who's gonna wanna run King's Fall? Bungie has their heads up their asses, and they constantly "fix" things that aren't broken.
-
This was extra stupid to do the week of the last oryx challenge for the moment of triumph calsified fragments. I never even saw a Titan in pvp using BoL and TOM.
-
It's got to be to keep players from using blessing/ToM in rise of iron!!!
-
It's totally balls. I wonder if Warlocks can be Kings Fall Ogre killers now in place of Titans. Just run Radiance, Radiant Skin, and high armor for increased Damage reduction, might work as a half-decent substitute. Actually, using Apotheosis Viel to pseudo extend the ToM time. Run yourself to low, cast super to heal up and gain massive DR against Touch's effect, and keep shooting. Anyway.. Even the change as it is is stupid. Why couldn't we at least still benefit from BoL, and make Touch merely ignore the Overshield? That wouldn't feel as arbitrary, and slightly less like a kick in the teeth.
-
Defenders still have the Force Shield melee overshield. Wonder if it insta-removes that one as well?
-
Oryx and his fireteam kept complaining about getting killed by Touch of Malice and then it got nerfed. I guess Oryx learned from the Crucible players.
-
Oh definitely bump was try to shear three through last night for the last chance oryx challenge for mot and caused no end of issue's especially as two of them had just got tom and we're looking forward to using it...to say we were unimpressed is a massive understatement the air was a very dark blue luckily I can use other stuff and showed them that way but to do it on challenge week too??????????????? Well done bungie (SLOW CLAP)
-
I'll never run KF again.
-
This is a bullshit nerf. I have never once seen a Titan doing this in PvP and so what if they do anyway? Everyone knows not to go near a Titan bubble in crucible, plus they have a rubbish middle game where they will likely kill themselves. I call bullshit - Bungie nerfed it because of something coming in RoI that will be too easy to cheese. Kings Fall just became totally more annoying.
-
I bet this was changed as their may be a fight in the new raid where this would break it. Over all not a big issue.
-
I'm a little excited honestly - I'm so accustomed to our current raid that I spend most of my raid time with my HUD off caring more about taking screenshots than actually playing. It's easy now that I've got used to it, so I'm definitely looking forward to finding a new way to take Oryx down.
-
So a gun that was by and large only used in two boss fights is now only useful in one boss fight.
-
I dont understand why they couldnt just remove it in the crucible
-
RIP WoDBoLToMing.
-
It was a great nerf... Out of all my deaths in the crucible... And there are plenty of those... I've been killed by a bubble Titan running touch of malice once... I will rest easier now knowing that this game breaking issue will never happen again.
