So as the title says, I'm returning home after a trip to Pakistan tomorrow - at least, that's when the plane ride is, late in the night. So without further ado, here are my thoughts on Pakistan (note that I mean no offense to Pakistanis).
It's H O T. No joke, temps reach around 110 here. Especially considering it's summer, it was quite hot in the middle part. Luckily, a lot of houses have AC's and fans, so it's easily fixed.
Traffic is crazy. American drivers would die easily because A. There's no traffic lights and B. Everyone is aggressive when it comes to driving.
Lots of good architecture. Having Islamic architecture combined with modern-world architecture results in a lot of really cool places. The Mosques (Islamic places of prayer) are very decorated and look amazing.
There's way more American restaurants than I thought. I've seen multiple McDonald's and KFCs. A lot of the latter. There are also Pizza Huts, Burger Kings, and other famous American restaurants. They don't sell pork since Islam bans it. But either way they're still pretty good.
I see more English than Urdu. Sometimes there's Urdu text under the English one but usually the English text is a larger font than the Urdu text. And yes, English is taught in schools - after all, Pakistan was once a British colony.
There are a lot of motorcycles. A lot of people own them because they're much cheaper than actual cars. There's a third type of vehicle people use, as well - Rickshaws, three-wheeled vehicles which don't have doors and have a box-like design. Most people use them for taxi services.
The native food is amazing. Dishes in Pakistan revolve a lot around vegetables and the design is somewhat based off of Mediterranean food, since a lot of Mediterranean restaurants make a lot of Islamic food.
There are a lot of street vendors selling various goods. The most common goods I see are fruits and vegetables, ESPECIALLY mangoes.
I have way more thoughts but I'm too lazy to write them all, and also it would take too long. Besides, I gotta pack!
