Hi all!
I’m headed to Maui to visit a friend for a few days and be a tourist and will be gone until the launch of The Final Shape.
I am an avid raider and was chasing Godslayer, but it seems like I won’t be able to complete all of week 4 before I leave.
I play on PS5 and the friend I’m going to visit also plays on PS5. There’s going to be several days where I’m basically house sitting for him while he works and I’ll have not much to do. He said I’m more than welcome to get my week 4 run done on his console. I have no doubt I can get it done fairly easily, but I’m having an issue…
I am EXTREMELY nervous that Bungie/Battleye will flag it as a recovery and I’ll get banned.
I mean, suddenly my account logs into a device that isn’t mine in Hawaii, completes the hardest PVE challenge in the game, then goes back to normal IP address a few days later? ID look at that suspiciously.
So what should I do? I do really want Godslayer but if doing it like this gets me a ban it’s not worth it. My friend has a VPN that can set its location to my home area but I still think that’s risky… I feel like it’s going to look like a recovery account no matter what. I can’t bring my own PS5 with me since my roommates use it too. So I think no matter what, it’ll either detect that I’m on a different device or IP entirely…
Do I just forget about getting Godslayer?

Bungie fan. Check my About Me section. - old
You will not be banned just because you're logging into a different location. Bungie uses a lot more data than that to determine who is cheating and who isn't. You will be totally fine. Also, the use of a VPN will not get you banned either.
