List of the Rarest Items in Destiny
Here is a list of what I believe to be truly rare items in destiny. Please add others that you believe are truly rare, note this isn't about the BEST, it's about the rarest in terms of drop rate and number of opportunities per week to possibly get it.
1) Faction Shaders (ex. Revenant, Amalthea, Babylon shaders)
2) Faction Ships (1 available from each faction).
3) Faction Weapons only obtainable from packages, nightfall, or engrams. (Ex. Red Hand IX, The Conduit, Final Rest II).
4) Praetorian Foil. From hard VoG oracles. It simply has the lowest drop rate compared to other items in the vault of glass including the vex mythoclast.
5) Hardlight (RNG only) Xur has not sold this weapon.
6) Thunderlord (RNG only) Xur has not sold this weapon.
7) Gjhallarhorn (RNG or purchases from Xur during Week 2).
8) Necrochasm (lots of luck required in terms of RNG).
9) Substance 321 Shader
10) Arctic Proxy Shader
Let's hear some others. Don't say exotic pieces that have been sold multiple times by Xur.

11) Queens Wrath Shaders, class items, and weapons. For example prism dancer, rose gold, The supremacy, etc.
12) Praedyth's timepiece and Fatebringer seem to be candidates, my question, do you typically see at least one drop for somebody per raid?
13) I'm not on play station but I believe hawkmoon and Monte Carlo are other rare exotics that haven't been sold by Xur. Note fate of all fools isn't obtained via normal drops so I am not going to add that.

1 ReplyEternity to Eternity a ship in which no one has, and is the most badass looking one in game. Apparently available from leveling up new monarch and future war cult. Not sure if both factions needs to be leveled or if it comes from a faction package. Hopefully it drops with HoW.

3 RepliesOh yes, I'm so content with mt Arctic proxy shader. I always wondered why no one is wearing that! So apparently it is quite rare. Beautiful shader too! I'm not sure but, isn't the Leopard cloak pretty rare too? I don't see them often, but I don't play strikes much, so maybe it's just me.

I've got 2 hardlights, praetorian foil, artic proxy, ghally, and red death. Cannot get the vex or fate bringer to drop. Or any Crota guns besides one black hammer and one abyss defiant. That's with three characters. Two on Xbox one on playstation. It's insane.

Rosegold and the other queen shader along with her weapons and ship ive had 5 red hands many final rests and the conduit 1-2 times

5 RepliesI disagree with faction weapons because I've gotten several from roc strikes and nightfalls. I'm pretty sure they have an equal drop rate with other legendaries.

I have all the dead orbit shaders and all the new monarchy shaders. I also just recently got the new monarchy ship. But my most prized possession is a dead orbit scout rifle which i got for rank 5. It was the crypt dweller sr1. Its upgrades were outlaw, field scout, and firefly. Still have it stored on my titan. It was amazing and i refuse to dismantle it.

1 ReplyJust saying, ships should be 1 and shaders should be 2 because there are only 3 ships, but 9 shaders. So you have a x3 chance of getting a shader than you do a ship.

On the destinydb.com, there are class items from dead orbit called cloak/mark/bond of the oblivion, which look cool as, if these are in the game I'd say these are pretty rare. Never seen them until yesterday when I looked online

I have 5 through 10 and those two shaders were hard to get m. Only have one of each. And we'll 3 dead orbit shaders. May switch since u don't see myself getting the fourth one anytime soon
