When did Bungie say Arena was Horde mode?
Why is everyone so hellbent that The Arena is gonna be a horde/survival mode? Had Bungie said anything about this or even any reliable source? Or is it once again just player speculation that has already caused so much disappointment in this game?

They didn't. It's just that the word Arena gives a gladiatorish kind of feel so people would expect some kind of survival horde mode. But hey, people also expected a raid in HoW so I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't a horde mode.
