Destiny community,
Last year I created a poll regarding purchasing Destiny 2 and alluding to the glaring issues surrounding Destiny 1, which from the replies that it had, showed the overall disappointment in the game experienced by our community.
So, here I am 8 months, 2 DLC's, 3 x Lv34's, 430hrs later here we are...

I dont think I can make it, my guardian is trapped in a dark and strange place that feels suprisingly familiar. Standing toe to toe with the mightiest Gorgon in this cold unforgiving place, it places it's gaze upon me, demanding my full attention keeping me locked in a battle where only one will survive...as if it were fate...if not our destiny.
As I prepare to face this ruthless threat in this forsaken place, I cast my mind back to a happier time, full of wonder and excitement for the future...for what was to come. But as fast as I can remember, I am pulled back into reality and to my dismay there is another Gorgon beside the first, I also cannot shake the feeling that something is watching me from behind.
With no synthesis left I lay down my still smoking Gjhallarhorn and thank it for allowing me slay much of the darkness and helping to protect and defend those that I know and those that I don't. I clench my fists, hard, with bolts of arc emanating and diverging all around me. One of the bolts strikes a nearby rock, shattering into a million pieces, and another one strikes the first Gorgon, causing it's eye to steadily turn red in colour, as if in anger at my defiance to not go quietly into the abyss, for it knows as long as I exist I am a threat to it's way of life...and it must be stopped.
I leap forward, knowing this is it, I have nothing left at my disposal... gone are my friends who conjured the power of the void into spheres of unimaginable power, gone are those who sought to pierce the darkness leaving flaming holes in their wake, gone are my fellow soldiers who's lighting has left their body... I have become the light..I have become the weapon...I must make this right...No, WE must make this right
- Excerpt from the broken ghost of I_E_x_t_a_s_y_I from the battle of greed
Please keep in mind there is an update coming on Thursday from Deej so we need to see what he says there, and also keep in mind he just plays the game and gets paid to pass on our feedback to devs and to deliver news from the devs to us, so don't shoot the messenger.
Now, to summarise this whole TTK issue relatively quick.
Problem: A loyal D1 player who buys the expansion and already has all pre existing content will not have access to the 3 cool new class items and the shaders as well, to the community it sounds like "thanks for helping us be a success, now we are going to try and impress new players because...well...we already have you paying" this may not even be what Bungie thought would happen as they did say "...and more" for us who already play but because they haven't shown us what we get all we can think is "we dont get that stuff".
As a D1 player (beta) I didn't expect any special stuff just for being a D1 when TTK dropped and I don't think anybody else expected that either, we just don't want to have cool items cut off from us when we have purchased everything else but if we want these new items we have to repurchase things we already own.
Answer: Give the $40 version buyers the items too. Or just have a totally different set of equally cool items for us instead, which is what I am guessing will be announced Thursday.
Problem: Pricing points are all over the place, in Australia the season pass was $35 (you saved $5 if you got it with the game when it was meant to be $40) but TTK by itself is shaping up to be $70 here and the legendary edition is $100. This does not make any sense. Yes depreciation occurs (items are worth less the older they get) but HoW was $20 USD and only has just come out. TTK looks amazing from what I have seen, the base game was barebones on story (grimoire doesn't count - I bought a video game not a book) and the last 2 DLC's were quite disappointing (HoW was a step in the right direction).
Answer: Adjust your prices so you are inviting players to continue their journey, not turn away.
Trust me...or do I need to fire up a video ;)
EDIT 1: So Part 1 of the weekly update is done, and what has been announced is literally nothing any different other than what we have already been told about D1 exclusive stuff (which does look quite cool - Shader), with the exception that now we are so graciously being offered the ability to purchase the CE digital items for $20; to put this into perspective that is how much each of the past DLC's cost.
Lets see what happens
