Handcannons are destroyed since ttk update.
The range is abismal, follow up shots are all over te place and the best perks are removed. And because the accuracy is so shit now the low ammo count is just a slap in the face.
Honestly bungie I dont know who it is on your team who hated these weapons so much but man o man. Please tell that dude to calm down.
Thorn and the last word needed to be dealth with yes absolutely but this is just crazy.
How mant times do you see anyone using a handcannon now that isnt exotic? Almost nobody.
Im begging you Bungie, just because one gun ruined the game doesnt mean the entire weapon class needs to be changed. Look at your own statistics on handcannon use and bring back these beautys for the true gunslingers of Destiny.
Sincerely an outlaw

Yeah agree. And I also dont understand and this is quote from Smith: "every gun has its era". Why in the name of Gods -blam!- there has to be an era for a gun type. Why every gun cannot be used and be competitive depending on ones gamestyle. I've said this before and say it again: Crucibles current state is total doodoobutter

I've used handcannons the entire time I've played destiny, since Jan 2015 pretty much, as long as they have high impact it's always been 3 shots, as long as one hit is a head shot. Hawkmoon was pretty much destroyed but the IB handcannon is very good in pvp. I've come across a couple other high impact handcannons but the perks were crap on them. Now the range was affected a lot when they nerfed them but close to mid range they are still very affective imo.

I 2 shot people with my imago loop
-
Yeah. I miss the old days with hand cannons. Everything was better and I particularly loved the designs. My fulcrum is still my baby! :)
-
Hand cannons are perfect right now. They actually require skill to use. It's not just spam the trigger from scout rifle range like in HoW anymore. You need to pace your shots and be accurate, with the exception of tlw and thorn, which is just 3-4 body shots and get a kill.
-
Don't forget they actually look like nerf guns now! Definitely need a slight buff to hit box or accuracy and absolutely need to nerf fusion rifles.
-
Legendaries are not all that great but there main drawback is the range, if they have that, there is very little reason to use another weapon. The exotic hand cannons however are like a different archtype altogether, last word is stupidly effective and thorn is just broken again. Last word is made so effective by the guardians maneuverability and thorn is going to always be broken, three body shots killing as fast as 2 head shots and a body? Its dumb. Hawkmoon is really rather low at the moment, range nerf coupled with the LITC nerfs have just left it almost unused in comparison. I also feel like the nerf and changes to all the year 1 perks and the year 2 perks having a significantly bigger effect than the year 1 perks have also made a difference. Example, check the different between hammer forged and rifled barrel ...
-
Yea LOVED hand cannons in PvE until they destroyed them...never forget
-
My finnala works fine. Maybe its the person using it.
-
The only needed to fix on them is their hit registration and maybe increase their ammo, the range they are proficient at works
-
Hand Cannons are fine except hit detection. Every other precision shot doesn't register it seems.
-
Something that they do need to do is raise the reserve ammo. It's so low it's practically unusable in PVE
-
I really like the water star. Has great range but the last perk that auto rolls aren't game breaking. It's a non exotic hand cannon that hits it's target.
-
Yea I have a perfectly rolled Uffern HC4 on warlock, it has Truesight, luck in the chamber, rifled barrel and outlaw. I'm just waiting for Bungie to realize their mistake and rebuff handcannons.
-
I miss the days of my beloved hawkmoon. Hopefully one day hc will be returned to their former glory, or at least close
-
Suros DIS-43 is basically a hand cannon with range and ammo. And if you got last week's then it'll have max stability and full auto. :)
-
It will always be like this. Pulse and hc were useless, autos were good. Then autos and hcs were ok, pulses were shït. Then hcs and pulses were great, autos were shït. Now autos and pulses are great, hcs are dead. Scouts were always competitive, now they're great (yay). So much for balance
-
The last word and thorn are probably two of the top 5 most used guns in crucible. They don't seem broken. Although my last word shoots blanks every once in awhile
-
they definitely are tamed
-
Snag an Imago Loop. Still formidable in PvP.
-
My Eyasluna wants to tell you he isn't broken, and that he can't wait to find you in the crucible to prove it.

Edited by RagingPheonix00: 3/6/2016 1:04:35 AMPlease thank all PVP players who called for nerfs on the last word and thorn, its their fault this class of weapon was utterly destroyed. when it comes down to it, it is the pvp players fault alongside the development team who destroyed playability in this game as one side constantly wanted to nerf one thing or the other and the development team who could not balance a ton of bricks with a ton of shit.
-
God I miss hand cannons. Freaking loved those things.
-
Recently picked up tlw and its near impossible to compete the challenge/quest in crucible that came with it. Gun is nearly worthless. 😞
-
Edited by Star Gazer2: 3/6/2016 12:51:23 AMI see no legendary hand cannons anymore, only the exotic hand cannons. The exotic hand cannons are overpowering the legendary hand cannons. Such great variety. At least with the other weapon types you had enough reasons to use the legendaries over the exotics.

Blame hunters.
