Why? I don't understand, it's not pay to win and they pretty much benefit you in no way unless you want some bling dancin'. So I simply don't understand the problem with them. I think they should be putting the money from them towards new strikes or events that happen fairly often. But seriously why are people so upset about them?
-
Because it's a shameless cashgrab that should be relegated to F2P games.
-
I agree, at the time a bunch of fear mongering but since nothing happened like pay to win it died down. Had not even thought about it till this post. Which of coarse triggers all the victims on the forums with I deserve this I deserve that. I mean getting mad that there is no new content due to some micro transaction pseudo promise, but they have not paid /bought anything but still butt hurt they don't get anything. So yeah minimal impact on game just a reason for people to whine a bit. And I think I'm out of touch at 43 paying 60+$ for a game then dlc that I play for a year straight just does not sound that expensive, One imax movie with kids is 70-80$
-
people secretly want it so they can just buy easy mode. but on an anonymous forum they jump on the hipster band wagon to look cool to a bunch of strangers. while not realizing buying cosmetic things don'at affect anyone's game but the buyers.
-
Because! <- best explanation. I don't know how much I've spent for character redesign on FF14. The micros Destiny has don't ruin the game in any way, the Sparrow Racing Book was debatable but eh. Might be because people are still mad because footage of that was in early trailers.
-
Because when you pay 100$ for a beta then realize there's no content. Then they charge mor for dlcs that are pretty Much useless.
-
People stupidly think it somehow ruins the game... My game is the same no matter how many emots people buy...
-
I honestly don't care :p
-
The racing book was a step in the wrong direction (and a rip off) as was the ridiculous xp boost pack. Even gaming sites slammed them for how much of a rip-off it was and they deserved it.

Edited by Legion: 3/15/2016 3:14:43 AMI'm use to the idea of micro transactions, being a Mobile gamer on the side, pretty much every game has micro transactions. I'm just glad they aren't flaunting it every time I log in to "buy silver now and get bonus (amount depends on spent do) silver" "Buy this weapon now to get ahead of the guardians."
-
No idea
-
Why tag Deej in it, he wont read it.
-
-blam!-in Farmville
-
Your a little late
-
I dont even think that they make much from it . I think 60k a week if they are lucky .just a guess
-
No-one has bitched about them in ages.
-
Depends how theyre handled. I personally disagree with them in a full priced game like destiny, or more for people that have bought all the individual dlc's as well. In the end theyre here stay though, thats just how the industry is now. Which sucks
-
I don't have a problem with them. Just as long as it doesn't turn into pay to win.
-
I have not spent a dime on Silver. I got a few emotes from Crimson Doubles bounties. If I get a free raid or even the old raids brought back for free because of micro-transactions then I'm all for it....Some of those dance emotes in crucible should not be allowed though they piss me off so bad.
-
Taking our money without giving us actual content! Thats why Im upset atleast. Lol
-
Ubisoft been doing it for a long time. Dont know if the division has them, but i assume they do.
-
Because tits
-
It's more about their price. People bitched about the price of TTK but accepted it by paying for it. They then introduced MTs, at a high price, and people pay for it. $10 to keep track of your stats in a temporary event, and people paid for it. It's a very slippery slope, but now Bungie knows they can get away with ridiculously priced DLCs, so they're going to keep doing it. Now if you want to play the 'if you don't want to pay for it don't pay' card, just remember all of the people who decided to stick with year one, boycotting TTK. Now they don't get nightfalls, or dailies/weeklies, they have no use for legendary marks, and their crucible is crippled. Destiny is a fraction of the game they paid for and the rest of it is effectively held ransom, if they want to continue playing the game they paid for, they have to fork out further. This is the slope I was talking about. If Bungie decide to do another TTK-sized update and charge for it, it's going to be expensive, and it's going to lock out anyone, who choses not to pay, from content they had access to prior to the update. The purchasing of MTs isn't the issue, it's the accepting the outrageous prices.
-
Same reason you're upset about your micropenis
-
Because making cash grabs during a severe content drought doesn't exactly paint Bungivision in a positive light. Not very hard to figure out.
-
Edited by ElderWolfWalker: 3/12/2016 4:40:45 AMYou want to know why there's no content? Because they can make the same amount of money from FÛCKING dances. Why even make content, when they can make money from dances? It affects those that want content and that's why it's annoying.
-
Since microtransactions have a price, people can use them as an excuse for corporate greed
