The seamen are supposed to be inside of a girl, right? >:)

It's a female cause it lets everyone on it

They're expensive, always breakdown, and needlessly difficult

They're hard to take care of and need a firm hand to guide them and they can take a beating.

Because no one wants to check "under his hood"

I believe it stems from the fact that the crews who served on ships consisted purely of men in the old days, so they considered their vessel their "love", that they're "married to the ship".

If a male ship hits an iceberg, it will keep going. If a female ship gets hit by an iceberg, she calls rape, and turns into a feminazi
-
It's even stranger when the ship is named after some old guy, but is still referred to as female!
-
Because no one wants to ride a guy
-
It's a really old tradition that started when sailing crews were almost exclusively men so they would call their ships "their love" or married to the ship

Because you care for it At least some people do

Me. I decided it. For everyone.

Because sailors got lonely

Bill Denbrough from IT told his brother Georgie that boats are supposed to be called "she." This was just before Georgie got his arm ripped off by a clown in a storm drain.

Edited by Icarus026: 8/9/2016 5:51:38 AMThe idea is that captains are married to their ships. Back in the day, almost all captains were male, so ships were referred to as female. The tradition of calling them "she" has carried on. On a side note, you will come across girl captains who refer to their ships as "he".
