I've seen a lot of really stupid things happen in movies over the years, but I think the worst was probably World War Z. When they're rescuing the scientist, and he shoots himself on accident. This dumbass tripped running up a flat ramp, and then accidentally shot himself in the head.
Idk why I thought of this and decided to post it. Just bored I guess. How about anyone who reads this replies with the stupidest thing they've seen in a movie?
Edit: A lot of good responses. Another thing I would pick is the entirety of the Percy Jackson movies. Probably the worst book adaptations ever.

When Fox gave up the merchandising rights to Star Wars.

New planet, rows of wheat, trees. NO ENVIRONMENTAL SUITS!

George Clooney as Batman.

The entire movie Face/Off. We see them laser printing an entire ear! Why not print a face mask instead of fricken removing and swapping each others faces!

The Shallows If that dumb a** woman had any common sense and did not swim out to the floating whale carcass, the shark wouldn't have started stalking her and kill 4 people. Coming from someone who has lived around shark infested waters for his entire life, I can tell you that she completely ignored every step in avoiding a shark attack and everything that happened to her and everyone else was her fault.
To put it simply, DONT SWIM NEAR DEAD SEA MAMMALS IF YOU VALUE YOUR LIFE
The entirety of Central Intelligence

vincent vega (john trevolta) in pulp fiction not knowing that adrenaline needles go to the heart like im pretty sure everyone in the history of existential existence knows that

The Titanic. They clearly didn't learn from the original Titanic and still ran into a bleeding iceberg. smh.

Hmm. I know this is going to hit the trigger button, but here goes. All the Star Wars prequels. There, I said it

Personally, I love movies that are intentionally stupid. Airplane 1&2 are two of my favorite movies of all time.

The Martha scene in Bvs comes to mind That or the final scene with Lex in the prison... just cringe Or maybe the scene when.. Pretty much the entirety of Bvs

Stupidest movie moment? Hands down that would have to be when TLA movie tried to claim that firebenders couldn't create fire without Sozin's comet. Dumbest shit I've ever seen on screen. Actually, that entire movie was AIDS. >Taking 30 seconds of preparatory tai chi to do a single water bending move. > Sokka being pronounced as "SOAK-uh." > Aang pronounced as "ong." > Three white kids playing Two Inuits and a Tibetan monk. That movie is an abomination.

Letting the good guy or bad guy reach his full power in order to -blam!- your shit up

The amazing chase seen in the amazing bulk.
-
I think the moment where the director decided to throw out slow zombies for a World War Z movie takes the cake. An amazing novel brought to the screen as a generic piece of garbage that heralded the end for zombie movies.

In Alien where they bring that dipshit with a facehugger onto the ship.

Braveheart. Pretty much all of it. To explain how far off the scenery and costume design is; Imagine a movie about the American Revolution, set in The Grand Canyon, and fought between a continental army, dressed like a Roy Rogers can club, fighting a British Army, dressed like Imperial Stormtroopers.
-
Probably The Karate Kid The titular character really gets shafted at the end
-
When Michael Bay decided to make a fifth Transformers movie.

Star Wars Episode 6. All of it EXCEPT for scenes with Palpatine.
-blam!- Ewoks.
