Just saying.
Edit: Ooh some members of the sweat community aren't liking this one
Edit 2: Some of these responses are hilarious lol

It doesn't matter to me personally whether or not it's competitive. Destinys pvp is unique and that's what drew the community to it. It's not like cod where it's just normal ass BS weapons. Destinys abilities and crazy weapons are what make it fun and worth playing.

Edited by an Ape with a d2 addiction: 10/16/2020 7:16:39 AMThat it even tried in d2y1 is the original joke. D2's not consistent enough to be competetive. P2p networking alone makes it non-competetive. In a competetive game latency does not create massive random inconsistent variables between player interactions / those are compensated for in server side netcode. In d2 rubberbanding from beyond the fifth dimension's the norm. Not even getting started with how inconsistent the hit reg's on lotta abilities etc. In a competetive game when you press a button the result will happen if you didn't make a mistake. In d2 it often just whiffs regardless of you playing perfectly because code spaghetti I guess. Folks need to accept this game for what it is. An arcade spacemagic FPS. It's good at that too. I like it a lot. It becomes so much better when you fix your expectations.

So tired of this rhetoric. It’s not a super balanced e-sport, no. That’s not what it was ever supposed to be and when they went down that road with vanilla D2, they almost killed it. The PvP aspect of them game, however, is fun and unique and there’s nothing wrong with enjoying it or taking pride in your stats. The ones who ruin it are the ones who “stat farm” or believe they’re something special but even worse than that is possibly the ones who arrogantly proclaim that your stats on any game are more important than on any other.

Yeah. I **tried** to sit down and watch a Datto video that was reviewing the sandbox. When I realized that it was just going to be another whinefest from him about how we're too powerful....and that Top Tree Dawnblade needed a nerf......? I just turned it off. Some people just really need to understand and accept that this game isn't for them, because its never going to give them the experience that they want. Datto especially. The player base is EXHAUSTED because we've been grinding for the last year with no real power to chase....and he wants to dial us back even more. Please.

As a member of the semi below sweat community (since I ain't a 2.0 kd) I approve This game is not meant to be competative- it is meant to be fun and yes skillful- but NOT COMPETATIVE. (Yes I have flawless and unbroken.... you salt bois ed bois.) Some of my friendships have soured because I wasn't sweaty enough for them.... ain't that great?

Edited by Soupreem: 10/20/2020 9:15:23 AMIt's got potential, it just needs a few... Changes: - Bullet magnetism needs a complete overhaul, and should be standard in terms of strength outside of snipers (zero on snipers), just change for range depending on gun (armor mods would increase BM range) - 3peeking would need to be completely removed - Warlocks need intrinsic ability buffs, think Rift and Melee, especially if "no dupe classes" is a thing. - There should be an official rule-set based off of the less restrictive scrims, Trials and Comp should enforce that rule-set. So oppressive but not completely broken guns like Monarque or a sniper/Arb would be limited to 1 per team, no duplicate classes or exotics, etc. - The tickrate should be minimum 60 Hz (currently 10), and feature full dedicated servers

Anyone who is in the "sweat community" ( which is a dumb name for it btw) knows more than anyone else that this game is not competitive.
-
It’s no wonder tryhards stink so much
-
The #bait is strong in this one.
-
I like corn
-
agreed the game has too many weapons, perks and abilities to allow true competitive play
-
Edited by Oddball: 10/18/2020 4:38:57 PMIt could be if they implemented load outs with specific locked-in class builds and equipment, like a hero shooter or moba. Currently the sandbox is too big to allow truly competitive play. Kind of why you don't see MLG World of Warcraft or FF14.

Remove aim assist from PvP ..Get a real anti cheat .. its a start at least
-
It will be to all them hackers who can't get perfect aim anymore

Edited by Double07: 10/18/2020 7:51:28 AMImagine making Destiny for casuals, and also changing some stuff completely.
Just saying. Edit: Ooh some members of the sweat community aren't liking this one Edit 2: Some of these responses are hilarious lol
Correct. Which is why CBMM works so well in D2 :)
-
Right now definetly not competitive but it definitely does have potential to be competitive although I doubt that will ever really happen.
-
Im not saying ur wrong but everyone who’s agreeing with this are awful at pvp lol
-
Thanks captain obvious
-
Fyi, destiny is also not solely a pve game. Never has been. Crying about pvp and that it shouldn't be here is just as worse as thinking this is an ultra competitive e sport game. You think you are trashing on the pvp crowd when really you are trashing yourself.
-
The game is definitely not competitive, but some of the players definitely are. I've said before that the so-called "sweats" should just leave and find a different game to play, because their vision for the game and Bungie's are at odds with each other. Pushing for changes that take the game in a more "competitive" direction is a fool's errand. To those people, stop taking the game so seriously. Destiny 2 is the Mario Kart of FPS PvP.
-
Yes. Let the salt flow through you fan boys...
-
Anyone who decided to play Destiny looking for competitive pvp is dumb. Destiny is a power fantasy game and the pvp plays to that, as it should.
-
Very high aim assist Huge hit boxes Bullet magnetism “Flinch” snipers Head glitch strafe And..... Space magic
-
Well sure, except for the competitive playlist because it is called the competitive playlist, probably trials too
-
What's the difference between what's "Competitive" or not, other than the wording or captions, the developers put in place? No matter the mode, guys are still trying to line up shots.
