The issue: arc titans. ant legs. Need i say more? Titan barricades arent used as sheilds. Theyre aoe hazards of instant death.
The solution: instead of working on sliding, it should only apply to shoulder charge. At least no more reflecting abilities either. (Why do titans reflect better than an arc hunter super ability on their titan slide for no energy cost?!?!?)
if point control is the name of the game for pvp. Removing player damage from the barrier opens up so much for counter play.
The instant damage plus knockout just allows for zero skill 1v3 freebies. Titans are the only ones who can stack their abilities. Warlocks gain nothing from stacking a rift with well, while void titan can reinforce their bubble with an instant damage hazard. Even in high skill streamer lobbies, you just see them take and give rounds away when a bubble opens up. The best counter being using your own bubble after theirs.
Balance consideration: If player damage is removed, then massively increasing primary ammo resistance would help it towards its strength and purpose as a barricade sheild to block bullets, not an aoe hazard of instant death.
The counter play meta would become appraoching closer, forcing your opponent to push towards you to bring them into those close engagements titans are known for.
Right now, the meta counter play is to run away and cry about it. Or ditto the same -blam!-.
