The last time I felt like a Titan in PvP was when Shoulder Charges still could OHK without an exotic required and when the use of regular SC didn't consume the energy partially when using it as mobility.
Sure, it helped PvP but it really diminished Titans identity... That and the countless nerfs of exotics and other things.
Shoulder Charge these days in PvP feels like a one-way ticket to a free death. In PvE it feels not as good anymore with the movement changes.
I have more fun playing Unbreakable, blocking damage and detonating it on enemies than playing ANY of the shoulder charges on every subclass.
For a melee class we Titans became quite bad at being the "melee class".

Banner of war synthoceps titans disagree
-
I used to play gemini jesters with arcstrider combination blow in pvp for the memes. I havent tried it yet, but now with prismatic and the combination of invis. Slow or specter it might be utterly broken.
-
Titans man I swear gotta want everything handed to them. Yall really think you need a free OHK panic button shoulder charge it’s crazy. High risk my -blam!- you’re running forward .. yea such an unusual thing to do in PvP lol. It’s a movement tool or gets them one shot , or wear peregrine. Titans have all kinds of melee cheese nvm intrinsic things like knockout
-
If shoulder charge were a bit more consistent then it would be solid tbh
-
They built titans around meleeing everything but forgot about the following; You ain't punching things at GM Level difficulties You ain't punching bosses with stomp mechanics Punching in PVP doesn't always work bc of netcode and lag Shoulder charges lose to shotguns 99% of the time ( netcode) Shoulder charge whiffing There is no reason to want to melee anything in this game full time.
-
I feel the same about warlock getting their identity watered down more than any other class. I don't mind titans being the melee tank class as long as they are slow as heck and have massive drawbacks like every class should. Aside from what they're good at.
-
Hunter's legal wallhack + infinite radar is better even if shoulder charge had OHK Idk who decided that shoulder charge has problems. Maybe same ppl who invented tracking bullets?
-
No, titans are a melee class because bungie didn't care enough to make them as diverse as warlocks and Hunters so to be the melee class didn't take up as much time as creating a new subclass type and super. Since prasmatic that has come back on them and a melee only class doesn't fit well in terms of balance. Oh sure we heard there "talking about it" but that's about it, will it change? Nope because as I said bungie doesn't care enough on creating the titan class.

Can barely go melee in basic strikes nowadays. Could run Skullfort in a basic strike and get 100+ kills, no deaths and not use my gun until the boss. Same style now gets me 60 kills, a couple of deaths and a third of my kills are using guns. Enemies simply do too much damage, even in the simplest activities. It’s one thing for melee to not be viable in a gm or a raid it’s another to get smoked in a basic strike or basic nf

The Shoulder charge Titan meta is when I last played Titans. Never felt the same afterwards
-
As a Titian getting out punched by a warlock and hunter feels so insulting. It’s really the only thing i don’t like. I see warlocks gaining shields and healing during a fist fight, and hunters are just throwing haymakers, one hit KO.
-
80 percent of the player base are Hunter and Warlock main so they need to make them Overpower, while we Titans have been nerf to the ground. I guess they have done this as a marketing strategy for the players to return to their game. I've heard one of the developers say that the game will become broken but not for Titans.
-
Class ability sucks that needs to be change hunters can dodge/freeze and throw fire/ice projectiles even leave behind clones with strand😭.
-
Hugely agree, this decision was the start of titans’ ruin. I’d support making SCs harder to land but they should always be OHK when successful because the risk is so high. As they are now, they’re just a death wish in PvP and pretty pointless in PvE.
-
What? Titan’s are 1000% the most successful melee class. Shoulder charge still does 3/4 of the enemies health and either blinds, suppresses, or scorches after hit. It’s a pretty easy kill imo. Plus prismatic has the busted combo of shiver strike and knockout now which is a free kill and will generate a diamond lance. We definitely do not need any buffs to titan melees, at least in pvp.

I don't know what they've done to the TITAN this season and even since, but TITAN is sad. My solar super is pathetic now. All my supers seem waaaay shorter time wise. Takes forever to earn my nades in PVP...like I'm sporting a 5 on discipline. I just don't remember my Titam being this way when doing the campaign. Yes, I miss my D1 TITAN bigtime. Shoulder charge was soooo good! But the elitist whinnybabies hate the shoulder charge! I miss having a buff or shield when we had supers too. A hunter can knife or slap me right out of it a super now....just stupid. So I switched to solar and now it's awful.........

Hunters have a OHK melee ability. Warlocks have a OHK melee ability with necrotic or sliding into a group. Titans don't anymore. Shoulder charges are more risky since you don't teleport like warlocks or have range like hunters. They deserve to be a OHK like in D1.

Bonk titan. Banner of war. Thunderclap builds. Prismatic melee builds with stasis lance… It has plenty of them…
For a melee class we Titans became quite bad at being the "melee class".
This sums Titan up as a whole. In PvE, Hunter does melee better with Combination Blow. By far. Especially with being able to spam Radiant on top of it. And in PvP, the whole braindead ape pushes are really only decent in really low skill brackets where people don’t know how to fight back. In most games though, you can just Dodge backwards on Prismatic Hunter and slow them and one shot them with a clone. Over time, Titan has kind of just become a niche with almost no versatility.
-
As a titan main, I think shoulder charge is fine as is. The game needs less OHK abilities. I very rarely shoulder charge anyone unless I absolutely need to. I like being able to use SC for mobility and the nerf to cooldown was appropriate for how often it could be spammed previously. It was especially bad in mnk lobbies since the movement capabilities they have. I’m on console/controller but most my friends I play with are on pc/mnk.
-
I used to really enjoy playing Titan and shoulder charging/flying knee’ing everything. Think I used Insurmountable Skullfort to keep SC charged if I got a kill. My character probably had more deaths than kills but it was FUN. Charging into an opponent that was about to dunk the orb in Rift was hilarious.
-
Hunters have always been the melee class
-
Titans have been treated horribly since the launch of D1. Nothing sets them apart from the other 2 classes which is a shame. Here’s a breakdown. https://youtu.be/eqVyZAi-mxk?si=ZHXIr8AKxCl-VWTX

Edited by Willakkuma: 7/8/2024 1:38:01 PMBottom line to all of this..... You have more competition in CQ now.....as it should be. Adapt.
-
You guys were on top forever with the easiest brain dead playstyle now hunters have there time to shine for a little before they get nerfed and you wanna cry about it😂
-
You mean the class thats class ability is tied to more HP and the ability that is a teleport that gets 85% of it refunded for a miss needs to go back to 1 hitting?
