So, should the USA and/or NATO preemptively attack North Korea to prevent a worse conflagration later on?
-
Of course!
-
No. Pretty sure N Korea has China as an ally and that's when it ceases to be a pre-emptive strike and becomes the worse conflagration that you're trying to avoid.
-
OK, an overwhelming no. Even though they are flouting the non-proliferation treaty and opening the uranium enrichment facilities?

Edited by DEZARATH: 4/2/2013 5:02:05 PMActually it would make more sense if China performed a regime change on North Korea. One they could stabilize the region while keeping a communist government in place as a buffer between the West without inciting Japan to fully re-arm itself and a messy Korean unification under America's sphere of influence. If anything they could then undermine South Korea by installing the mantra of manipulating their own currency and using cheap labor and the West's ability to sell themselves out for crap products made cheaply. Nukes, hell cheap iPads will win you beach side property next to Dennis Rodman in NewPort Beach without even shooting a bullet.

Nope.
-
-
Seems pretty unnecessary.
-
No. America can't afford another front.
-
Absolutely not.
-
I am surprised the U.S hasn't tried to make a coup like with Fidel.
-
No, because Korea could just be talking out of their ass, then we end up in an unnessacary war with Korea, that could turn into nuclear conflict. It's better just to be prepared for their blow and let them be the instigators.
-
We should definitely make sure we are ready to be attacked but we shouldn't attack until they do. If we attack first it makes us look worse and people will want to support NK. At least the countries that hate us will.
-
nope. We always let them throw the first blow and then deliver the final
-
I think we should tell them to stand down. Attacking them is what they want, they want to start shit. They want us to be the bad guys, so that more countries will jump in and fight us. But we don't just let them point guns at us, drop our guard. That's a terrible idea.
-
or just kick the bastard out ? and choose a new leader for NK or how it works.
-
A pre-emptive strike wouldn't guarantee no retaliation.
