This weekend IMSA kicks off the 2018 racing season with the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
Today the Continental Tire Series cars have a 4 hour event, and tomorrow the Weathertech Series kicks off the 24 hour race with the DPi, LMP2, GTLM, GTD cars all on the track at the same time.
2 time Formula 1 champion Fernando Alonso is co driving an LMP2 car this year.
The Ford GT's are back to defend their last year's win of the GTLM class.
I know not a lot of you get into cars nor racing in general, but maybe you may find you like it now since some of you have started driving for yourselves.
Any Forza players should watch at least some of this to familiarize themselves with the cars, teams, and the track, just to see how big this place is, and the history of the cars and the sport. So many iconic drivers and cars have raced here. It's where the '60's era Shelby Daytona Coupe was named for.
I look forward to this as well as Daytona Speed Weeks in a couple weeks for NASCAR getting the racing season going. Motorsports is the only professional sport I watch or have any interest in.

Cool post!!! I grew up in Europe, cars, motorcycles, and racing have been my passion for a long time. After all the new regulations nearly choked Formula 1, endurance racing quickly became my favorite, also German DTM, and WRC.

I love Forza, but I despise how they removed class specific hoppers. If someone tells me they added them back, I will gladly pop in 7 right now.

Edited by Cobravert: 1/30/2018 8:35:36 PMThe Ford GTs dominated this year. Finished 1 & 2, a full lap ahead of the C7 Vetted, 2nd Daytona 24 hours win in a row. DP was won by Cadillac, who had to run the car at a lower speeds because of over heating issues, but had such a commanding lead, they were able to maintain position. Lamborghini won it's first 24 race for the GTD category.

There's a gaming sub forum. I've become disinterested with racing games, for what it's worth. For those two reasons I wish I could give you two downvotes, but I suppose one will do. Here's an ironic bump in the process.

I love watching people drive around in circles

I mess with Forza but prefer Assetto. The Force feedback is dope. Also worth noting that GT Sport has this e-sport thing going on. I guess the FIA is involved... Furthermore. Watching pro footage definitely helped my driving lines. In game stuff generally isn't a millimeter perfect representation (although... some tracks are laser scanned 0_0) but angle of attack, how they turn in. Good passing zones, things like that. Hot lap of 2:29:8 at Spa because of it myself. Not "alien time" but much better than where I once was. I'd just recommend it as a general thing honestly. But hell yeah this is dope. Prototypes are always crazy fast. Member the Mazda? Proto, but a different classification I think. Early 90s.
RIP FUJIMI PRESS F TO PAY RESPECTS

F
Seems cool but I don’t know much about cars

I went to the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta a few months ago. It was really cool to see the new Ford GT going around the track

Forza is the best videogame series I have ever played As for the irl stuff, I'm not very familiar with the drivers and teams, but I love watching WEC (and would like to be able to watch Le Man's in its entirety this June) F1 I also would like to get into watching
Sadly, I don't have cable, so I don't have a way to watch racing
