Slow console load times have been an issue since day 1. Please address this.
Takes too long for everything in the menus to load....character, inventory, collections, etc.
If its about game space... do players really need 250 ghost shell options? 72 transmat effects? And since your vaulting 4 planets and adding 2, this should be completely fixed next season.
Thank you,

Bearbeitet von Knightlight: 7/28/2020 4:05:06 AMThey've actually improved the load times best they can. If you load from hanger to annex in the tower it dosen't take as long as they used to. Sometimes load times are fast. Sometimes not. They are getting rid of some old content and planets so that might help. They probably want us to by the new consoles to get us the loading times they intended. For now try the following. Delete all your shaders Have less wepaons in inventory Delete of vault some resources 1 ship 1 ghost and 1 sparrow only Don't be in your menu when changing location

Bearbeitet von NVMYGT: 7/28/2020 7:52:33 AMI picked up some bounties from Banshee, then changed out 2 pieces of armor... I made it to the front of the Spicy Ramen shop before I realized that the armor didnt change yet. Over a minute later, the armor finally swapped. This one I tried to inspect a new ship I just unlocked, took over 30 seconds to view it. https://youtu.be/PaJrDeW2KGY Took way to long to inspect items in the Eververse store in this video. Load times on console can be atrocious. https://youtu.be/xLR-s9IQyQE Was trying out shaders on my armor in this video... was taking 30+ seconds to view after clicking on it. https://youtu.be/ncmyeLLoOzE I'm on PS4 Pro ethernet into my router. 218 mbs down. Not fantastic but pretty solid. Can I get an SSD to fix? Sure, but PS5 soon so not going to bother. Hopefully next gen takes care of the issue.

Problem is menu got too large. They could probably fix it by moving lore and collections out and collapsing destinations into a zoom out on map where loading won’t start till you back out or just make it where it shows map by default when in location and destination if you are in orbit. As others have noted this problem is a hardware issue, but that is because they designed it with faster hardware in mind than they had to work with. Menu is just too large and has too many things in it in name of convenience. Like season pass and silver store don’t belong I) it and should both be put in the silver store in tower. If store/collections/season pass/triumphs were moved elsewhere and map and destinations were combined in a smart way that doesn’t cause them both to load simultaneously then things would load much better. It’s a menu and shouldn’t load as slow as it does. I have seen no other game have a menu with such a horrible load time on console. Moving important things for fast loading to start and others to other section would also help since for the most part we just need character/map/quests/possibly inventory at any given moment in time.

I think new gen console will sort the most of it, also they are getting rid of half the content next season which should also make load times quicker... we hope.
-
They are addressing it, the slow load times are because the game is bloated with unneeded content. Like the 4 vanilla planets that are getting removed in september because no one plays on them. Beyond cutting down on the game’s size they can’t really do anything. Game is on an ancient engine on consoles running ancient hardware. Maybe next gen will be faster.

On PC, I make it to the tower in 25 seconds. Takes about 4 minutes on Xbox One. I have no SSD, I’m using the original brickbox.
-
We're probably gonna need to upgrade to Series X or PS5 for that
-
As soon as bungie removes some stuff it will be quicker
-
I remember they had a release many moons ago that addressed technical debt. Things were fast and snappy for a while, so I know they’re capable of it. Didn’t last long, though. With each sea shift they introduce to destiny, the less they look like the Bungie of old to me.
-
Its almost a 2 minute experience going from start up to the tower using a SSD. The new consoles are on the way, with super duper SSDs, so we can look forward that.
-
Agreed on the ghosts etc but it’s the hardware more than anything. Next gen will help this, not really a Bungie problem.

Bearbeitet von Poltergeist_1973: 7/27/2020 2:28:28 PMNothing can be done on Bungies end. Its the console capability. Add an SSD and it cuts times in half in most cases. Or wait and trade up to next gen.
-
It’s a hardware issue. Bungie can’t really help you unless you expect them to buy you a next gen console or PC.
-
If you're on the base Xbox one or PS4, there's nothing you can do aside from putting an SSD inside but you'll only get minimal results due to the overwhelming majority of dated hardware in those consoles relative to 8th gen. As well as Destiny 2 runny on an older engine. The PS4 slim/One S are hardly an improvement from the base consoles and the Pro and One X are only marginal upgrades. Best bet is the PS5/Series X or a PC of similar or better specs that'll cost you $400-$600, depending if you're building a PC with used parts or not.

Sounds like you own an old console. They have less computing power. Sounds like it's time for an upgrade. Ps5 or series x.
