Specifically, I want to address locking game progression behind $20 dungeon keys when we already paid $40 for the expansion.
- You cannot advance beyond Guardian Rank 8 without spending $40 for two dungeon keys.
- Not to mention the sheer greed behind charging $20 for Dungeon exclusive items that are supposed to be a part of your $40 expansion.
The audacity to charge people for dungeon keys after you DELETE (sorry, SuNsEt) content that they already paid for. Does anyone here remember The Curse of Osiris, Warmind, Forsaken Campaign, Tangled Shores, The Black Armory annual pass, Scourge of the Past raid???
ALL PAID CONTENT THAT I PAID FOR. Bungie just shamelessly deleted all of it and has the audacity to demand that I pay more in order to continue playing because I can no longer play the stuff that I already paid for!
How has nobody filed a class action lawsuit against Bungie yet? It's not a surprise that your company is going down the sh___er with such a complete lack of business ethics. I will definitely be looking into a class action.

Don't give them your time and money anymore, move to another game, that's the only way they understand
-
Companies want you to own nothing and you are going to like it. It’s been clear for the last few years in gaming to me. It’s easier to take money from people by fear of missing out and taking content away just to sell it back to you later. The less we actually own and have control over the more issues like this will happen and not even with this game. The removal of physical games and movies in the near future is not exciting to think about as a consumer
-
You paid for access to the content, which you got. You did not purchase the content to have forever. That is, unfortunately, not how this game works. You can look into a lawsuit, but unless you plan on bringing forth a case that renders the entire EULA unenforcable, you'll be right back here and out some lawyer fees. I agree the dungeons should just be rolled into whatever the content drop costs as a whole, which it was if you bought deluxe editions, but I understand the ask is for it to just be part of the base content drop's price. Not sure they're going to go back on that, but would be nice.

People actually care about guardian ranks? I'm genuinely asking... I've always treated it as a worthless, ignorable part of the game.
-
40 is nothing, people like you are why we went to this f2p garbage in the first place.
-
You cant pass rank 6 as a free player. It has always been behind a paywall, and because it unlocks via wallet and not gameplay it therefore means nothing. Feel free to ignore the meaningless numbers.
-
Seeing it's the 10 year anniversary, maybe Bungie could let us buy the dungeon keys for bright dust for 1 week, just a thought.

Bearbeitet von 0interestrates: 9/11/2024 9:00:43 PMIve already paid for everything in this game, a lot of it multiple times. I still cant play dungeons on an alt because thats the only thing that says i dont own when using a 2nd character on my home xbox. Its bizarre that is the hill they die on. So when i have a friend, niece/nephew they are SOL to play what they want because Bungie blocks them. I dont want them on my account for a variety of reasons. Its nonsense.
How has nobody filed a class action lawsuit against Bungie yet?
Because literally everyone who's old enough to hire a lawyer isn't stupid enough to file a class action lawsuit over the DCV.

Bearbeitet von bakax123: 9/11/2024 9:54:33 AMWhat's really bad is that even old dungeons which almost no one plays anymore aren't going on sale which hinders new(er) players even more.

Bearbeitet von Reprimer: 9/11/2024 11:06:20 AMAnother example of not reading the terms of service. You signed it and said it was ok for Bungie to sunset content.

I really need to comment again; its just in my head and I must now share!! Let's talk about vex baby Let's talk about dun geon keys Let's talk about all the good things, and the bad things that may be Let's talk about vex Let's talk a bout vex Let's talk about vex
adding some pepper to the salt /s
You lost anyone taking you seriously soon as you used pointless guardian ranks as a talking point.

Let's get beyond lawsuits... that would not benefit anyone! Seems like an idle threat out of frustration... can't fault your opinion, but let's move on. In my opinion the whole sunset/content vault was a means to continue the destiny saga within d2. Otherwise, beyond light would have been d3 I think. So this draws the question, what was the better method of continuing the saga? D1 is still playable, but none of the gear/progression transferred. Or the original d2 is unplayable, but all progression remains. In terms of dungeon keys, they are expensive but the content is good!! Very good, by destiny standards! Seems like additional value was placed on them by affecting other aspects of the game, rather than being completely standalone... this is a little naughty as it becomes a pay wall, but what does that actually impact... some guardian ranks and some titles??
-
Why they couldn’t just do like cod, you can manage files on each title
-
I agree it sucks. But we buy a license to play the game, we don't buy the data itself. This is technically how almost all games work. But Bungie is among the few who actually do it and I don't know of anyone else who did it to such an extent.

If not, then where has the delusion come from where you say certain things are supposed to be a certain way? How has no one filed a class action against this? Against what?

You don't get nothin for nothin, brah.

Bearbeitet von LikwiD_SmOkE22: 9/10/2024 7:42:00 PMThat's why people buy the deluxe edition. You have 0 grounds to get a class action lawsuit going. If you buy the default expansion it doesn't come with the dungeons. This has been a thing for years. You're wasting money if you don't buy the deluxe edition.
