Your Blu-Ray (special edition of a film or show from the 80s or 90s, 4th release)
- the feature (possibly with extra material or updated effects)
- audio commentary by various cast/crew members
- deleted scenes
- making-of
- original trailer
- photo gallery, music video, interactive ‘game’ or other such nonsense
My Blu-Ray (classic Doctor Who, 2nd release after initial DVD release 10+ years ago)
- the feature as-broadcast
- the feature with extra material and updated effects
- occasionally an alternative edit as released on VHS with other extra material
- occasionally also a cut-down omnibus version that they liked to make in the 70s for reruns at Christmas etc.
- audio commentary (occasionally more than one)
- production subtitles (pretty much the same idea as the audio commentary, but more factual and technical, rather than actors reminiscing about playing pranks on one another, and put into the subtitle track)
- making-of from the original DVD
- new making-of starring 2 or 3 of the original cast filmed at one of the original locations
- clips of news segments and other TV and radio shows promoting the story or interviewing cast members about it (from the time of broadcast)
- story-specific features concerning topics mentioned in the show (could be about anything from the feasibility of cryogenics to the politics of green energy, to women’s lib or Victoriana, with links to the show past and present)
- Gogglebox-style feature where cast members watch the story and react, remember etc. (cut down to 30-40 mins)
- at least one 45+ min new feature, either a career-spanning interview with a cast or crew member or a tribute to one that’s died, or some other thing entirely like 3 cast members going on holiday for a weekend visiting locations from the show, or doing a DW themed escape room.
- 3+ hours of raw unedited studio and location footage (for the hell of it I guess?)
- raw model/effect shots with added explanation/commentary
- entire episode of a random other show with one or two prominent DW cast members in (I mean if it’s just sitting in the BBC archives then why not?)
- footage from various convention panels, usually from the 90s when they became more common.
- pdfs of the scripts, TV guide listings, original viewing ratings and other miscellaneous documents.
- photo gallery
- original TV trails and continuities
