Nothing will ever top Forsaken’s Not Forgotten Meta for me. A gun only readily available to the best PvP players being better than every other gun in the game by such a wide margin was miserable.
This Meta really isn’t as annoying, simply because it’s at least fairly accessible. Anyone can make a Hunter, unlock the subclass, obtain the Exotics and learn the build. It’s low-skill clownery sure, but anyone can do it. What I think is really making meta feel so painful is population. There are simply no longer enough people populating matchmaking for there to be any variety. It’s newbies who just got the game, likely to abandon it in a few short weeks for more modern FPS, and die-hards who have no other choice but to treat every game like it’s the world championship finals.
It’s been several years of the same. Bungie has never, nor likely ever will innovate their PvP in any meaningful way. This company has neither the talent nor resources to make any appreciable sweeps to the PvP landscape. All that’s left to do is turn one knob up and other knobs down.
Barring some kind of 11th hour Hail Mary where they drop the whole Crucible offline and build it back from scratch, there’s nothing left to look forward to.
Poor maps. Poor game modes. Poor matchmaking. Poor balancing. Not to mention that the tide seems to be turning in favor of cheaters as Bungie becomes increasingly strained to combat them.
The game is dead, folks. It’s clear as day. It’s a 10 year old FPS and it shows. Let’s just try to enjoy it while it lasts. This game’s survival hinges solely on the profitability of PvE content. There’s no more to give to Shaxx and his Crucible. When this Meta dies it’ll be replaced by another. We’ll all be back here wanting it nerfed as well. That’s all that can happen.
Remember in Curse of Osiris when you travel to the distant future and see the heat death of the Universe? That’s about where we are right now.

10 AntwortenSorry got to hard disagree yes Not forgotten was a problem, however as you said it was a limited commodity, you weren't running into it every game. Unlike right now you're hard locked into running into Hunters running RDM with Broadsword or Last word with invis every single game. Not to mention back in forsaken the disparity between class abilities wasn't as big as it is now or with such insane cooldowns. I would happily trade up the current sandbox for Forsaken's.

Bearbeitet von Primary Brick Requiem: 4/22/2025 5:25:20 AMHeat death is gonna be Frontiers, Marathon is gonna tank soo hard that it's gonna pull this game down too. Thanks for focusing on Concord 2 bungie, what a waste of an amazing art style, also reminds me of Lawbreakers.

I wasn't around for that meta... but I was here when stasis was introduced. Little did I understand then that it would become a pattern in PVP. Other than the a-hole ability/class/matchmaking unbalance.. REDRIX/ZEALOTS has got to be nerfed. I actually think Zealots is #1 priority. I actually got deleted similarly by an old Erentil yesterday so it may be all fusions. I wish Bungie could hire 1 person that actually cared about PVP. -
1 AntwortenWhy are you playing destiny pvp? It’s always been -blam!-

3 AntwortenIf bungie could just take us back to the 30th anniversary sandbox, or even full send on the checkmate sandbox; I’d be a happy guardian. I love gunplay and gun skill. I like special weapons when they feel earned. Heavy’s are always fun — but should be limited for a small window of opportunity per games. At most; 2 times a game. Abilities should be best used for primers, or clean-ups. One shot abilities ruin any and all skill. Mobility should continue to be dynamic. I love fast & nimble play-styles. Camping shouldn’t be encouraged unless it’s a game mode that’s focused on controlling a specific area. If I were a developer, this game would feel entirely different. Specifically for PvP. It has the bones to be a 10/10. And it’s gotten pretty damn close at times. But we’re never going to get there if bungie continues to take two steps back, every time they figure out what works best.

Brother checkmate and the special ammo bar, was actually nice, that might be a good chance to tone down outliers. Think on the prowl and the infinite invis loops is the main problem, being more annoying while there is more hunters in the same squad using it, add RDM to the mix and boom annoying squad. What blows my mind is how campy every game is, how do you have fun in a game with so much movement playing it right on the spawn it’s just mind blowing.
