[RECURRING] Stuck at Log in Screen (Xbox Series S) - ‘Destiny 2 servers are not available’

Hi, so I’ve been a Destiny player for some time and haven’t had this issue before. I play on XBOX Series S and have had little to no problems playing D2 in the past; however, I am currently trying to log in through my console and am hitting a wall. When I boot up the game I get to the title screen and continue to the loading screen where it says ‘Signing In’ on the bottom left. It stays there for a couple of minutes then says: “ATTENTION Destiny 2 servers are not available. Dismiss this message to try again. For more information, visit help.bungie.net” I press any button to retry and it just repeats the process. This happens any time I open the game on my Xbox. I’ve had the occasional disconnect and matchmaking problems before, but I have never run into an issue like this where there’s no error-code and happens this early when logging in. The strange thing is, when I try to log in on my PC through Steam I’m able to get in and play just fine (minus my dlc’s of course). So, the XBOX reads as fully connected to the internet (minus UPnP, but I’m not sure what that is), my computer which runs on the same network is able to log on perfectly fine, and there appear to be no updates/issues associated with the app. I’m currently going through every troubleshooting method and forum I can think of; however, without an error code or any red-flags popping up in the console I’m kind of stuck. The only things I haven’t messed with are the advanced settings (IP settings, DNS settings, Alternate MAC address/port selection, or QoS tagging settings). I’ve made no changes to these and see nothing immediately wrong in these departments, but I wouldn’t know what to look out for. Stuff I’ve attempted: • I’ve tried the basic steps like fully restarting the console and router. • I’ve checked for updates to either the game or the console (none available) • I’ve tried switching from a wireless connection to a wired one. • I’ve tried clearing the console’s cache (shutting off + removing power for 5 minutes). • I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling Destiny 2 and it’s add-on’s (yes the entire massive game, still no fix) • Port Forwarding I haven’t changed anything like ISP, region, or any important settings since I last successfully logged in and now, so I’m just looking for some possible guidance. Any help would be greatly appreciated! TL;DR I’m stuck at log in screen with an error saying D2 servers are not available (no error code). Logging in still works on my Steam account, and I have tried all of the basic troubleshooting techniques to no avail. Can anyone help?

  • After all the different attempts, Bungie’s most recent maintenance has fixed my problem. If anyone else has this issue in the future, try contacting your ISP and going through the Bungie help troubleshooting page. Hopefully something will work out for you or an update will be rolled out.
