So sick of abusive Raid Teams...

You guys know the ones. The teams that are always elitists, that get pissed off every time you die, the ones who berate you for playing a Warlock, and especially those who implement a strategy completely different than what you're used to and they expect you to be able to get it down first try. Don't tell me I'm the only one that's been there? I play hardcore, don't get me wrong, but when it gets to the point where name-calling and yelling and screaming happens, that's not motivation. That's just downright abuse. Edit: It sucks to know so many people can relate to this bullshit, but good to know there are others out there who are just as sick of it as I am. :)

  • My friend and I played Kings fall for the first time the week after it came out. We learned fast and made it to oryx. The entire way to oryx we only caused a wipe once. EVERY time there was a wipe they blamed it on us. They said "if anyone asks what to do they will be booted" one guy was their friend and he asked multiple questions every fight. They were SUPER nice to him. But no matter what we did they were jerks to us the whole entire time. Eventually we just left.

  • I got kicked once because I wasn't doing damage to the war priest in hard mode because the aura kept ending on my plate and they wanted the guy who was in the middle with me to use his black spindle. Another time I had just started hard mode with a group of friends and not even two deaths and the guy was like "let's just do normal because we won't get through this with a bunch of diapers"

  • Dude those people deserve to be punched in the face by God himself... Stupid pricks who are so serious that they make everyone mess up because they put everyone on edge... Dickheads... NO ONE deserves to be talked to like that... I finally had enough one day (it didn't take very long lol... Hair trigger temperament and a lot of pride) and blew up at someone for that.. It was a while back during Atheon, the game glitched (big surprise) so dying wasn't even my fault... But even if it HAD been my own mistake, NO ONE should EVER demeaningly talk and yell the way these asshats do in this game... I don't stand for it... Instead of screaming back I did what I do when I go into a rage; at first i got severely more quiet to stop myself from screaming, and then began to talk in a very darkly and monotone manner, while also repeating what he had said when HE ended up dying... lol... I'm a very outspoken person and I don't stand for bullying whether it's toward me or someone else, so needless to say I was also very outspoken about how I felt about him, while addressing it to everyone else BUT him while he listened... ...And needless to say, he changed his tone, sounded scared and reserved the rest of the time and we never played with him again. Assclown. Thank God I have my raid team now.

    • I remember I did my first normal Oryx raid, I had one of my friends with me and 4 'randomers' and they were all chill. Yes, we messed up few times on the daughters part, but everyone was like 'fine, it's ok lets just restart'. As comforting as that was and not putting pressure on you to execute every move flawless, we finished it lot quicker than expected. What we're seeing now is that many people out there are very, very impatient and rather taking the time to enjoy the game, they want raids completed within an hour and grabbing the loot asap to scatter on then.

    • So this is my story: I really wanted to get at least one HM completion. I Spent all my weekend, swimming in the cespit of toxicity and rage called LFG with no avail. I dont think I'm a bad player ( I'm no mlg pro either and never will be) , i can pull my own weight and i love listening to the advice of other ppl. Unfortunatly all i heard this weekend was " he has no emblem - kick him" or " have you killed oryx? No? I'm not interested in having you in our team" ( just for the record - i was 313 during my adventures). I started to lose my sanity and gave up on the HM. Today ( as an destiny addict i am) i had to try again. A simple lfg post " looking for one 308+ more" i msged the guy and got invited into the raid at about 10 am. Nedless to say - we wiped, ALOT. But something told me to stay. The leader always explained everything and our bubble bro said something that i will remember for a long time - " if someone sees that i can improve in any way, please speak up, i strive to get better and better". We changed the strat a few times ( we used the 2 titans on the platform strat) and began to get oryx lower and lower. Soon he was down to 10% and... We wiped. The disappointment was boiling up inside me but no one had blamed another, which kept me going . It was 1:20 pm, i said to my team " ok gents, unfortunately this will be my last attempt - i have to go to work at 1:40", the leader replied " no worries - we will get him this time". If i have to be honest - i didn't belive that. I decided to go a bit yolo - i dropped the TOM I've been using during the entire encounter not telling my teammates, infused my sleeper with an 316 rocket launcher and equipped it. The ogres MELTED - the team was on spot, and finally we got oryx down at that last attempt. Thanks to the power of Determination and great Teammates i cleared my first HM. Im glad that still, in the lfg abyss of pure hate - you can find gems that shine like the brightest stars. Never lose hope Guardians!

      • Spent a good amount of time on release weekend on three different characters gearing up my Hunter to take Oryx HM down. Made some attempts with different strategies, lots of wipes and lots of learning. Buddy and I found a group Monday to try again, we were 312 and 310 by now, group was right around there, maybe a few 308-309. Banter and spirits were positive, criticism constructive. At Oryx it rapidly deteriorated to frustration and eventual eruption with questions of whether I understood the mechanics, if I was paying attention, that my only point in being there was not to die, why did I die, accusations left and right, unfounded. Explained what happened and tried suggesting multiple times ways to get ogre health lower and keep them closer to their spawns. With lack of any sort of reason from the group lead, we left. Frustrated and slightly defeated. I would not clear it this first weekend it released. Went in for it again Tuesday, found a group that pushed through raid quickly but kept losing a player to connectivity. At Oryx we started to stall, but clearly the group was capable, nearly killing him in one of early attempts. About 30 minutes in, he was down, easy as can be, lead said it was his smoothest Oryx kill yet. I changed nothing from Monday to Tuesday, the group, leadership and attitude did. Strategy was the same. Oh the irony, none of the group that blew up at me have emblems yet, and less than 24 hours removed from their rant, Oryx is dead. Supportive collaboration won over elitism and ignorance. The encounter is hard, gear will help, eventually we all will kill him countless times, have fun guardians.

      • I hate when you get one squeaker in the raid they beg for you to kick someone so they can bring their friend in. Next thing you know, squeaker boy 1 drives away the rest of your fireteam and invites his friends. Now you have a sucky raid group.

        • I've created a foundation for guardians who are victims of abusive fireteams (GWAVAF). For a small fee of $25.99 a day, I will personally hand-deliver a fresh clean sheet of tissue paper directly to your house.

        • I had a team like that. Had whiny, bitchy people. Took forever but we got to Oryx then quit after a couple tries. Next day found another team that was very cool and communicated well. Didn't wipe til Oryx and then beat him on the fifth try. Cooperation and teamwork trump skill most of the time

          • I've giving up with this game for now I can never find my usual team or mates who are online at the same and I've tried hard mode couple times and we get to Oryx no problem and that's when it goes down hill coz everyone has a strategy to do it and it's the same people over n over who get killed and there the 1's who have put this strategy forward then they leave when it's not done 1st try and have to find more people and a couple hours in its the same thing lol I've getting sick of it tbh

          • This is why it's good to make a clan and keep the ignorant folks out or find an active clan with nice people or at the very least make friends until you've got enough of them that are usually on to run things with. Sadly, there's no shortage of people that aren't fun to play with and with pug groups/lfg, you just never know what you're going to get but you just sorta have to deal with it if you go that route or leave the group and try again.

I have been with abusive grams all the time :/ I've only seen one nice team after that I get yelled at or even kicked. Then when I got something like fate bringer back in year one I got kicked. With oryx raid I can't even step foot into a raid without people blaming me for every shitty thing I do like Come on I'm not the only on -blam!-ing up stop hating me :/ At this point I say screw the oryx raid I don't give a donkeys ass if you got t.o.m I don't care about your raid completions. Once I get my xbox one I'm gonna play halo 5 and have fun. Without those stupid elitists on the raid forums I may play destiny but ever since ttk no one has been friendly and everyone here seems to be snotty brats wanting a carry or simply won't give others a chance. I never done relic when vog was at its prime but when I did it. My god I loved it. Now with oryx raid everyone is basically giving me jack shit to do nothing and those quest about doing the raid? Screw that! Rather be forced to go up against bungie and be humiliated by youtube forums saying how I couldn't even get one kill off of them in crucible.

          • The worst is when one of them dies it's your fault because that specific acolyte was your responsibility. Haven't had too many problems personally but I've been in groups that have been harsh on someone they lfg'd in and I've always tried to chill everyone out. I main a lock also but I recently started co-maining a Titan in case I'm in a raid team that needs one.

          • Every time I get an invite to raid I get stoked. Then five seconds later half the team is calling to boot me because I haven't beaten it before. Well it's hard to finish the raid when people won't play with me.... It's sad when I finally get to play or after fifteen minutes of convincing them I'll pull my weight and I can consistently have a better score than them and stay alive longer throughout. Why be so strict on who's allowed to play with you when someone who's only gotten half way through it twice is better at it than you are? Is it because you're 310 light and still need to be carried by a 296 in hard mode? (298 now that I got a 306 raid ghost) I'm just so tired of trying to find a group to raid with I pretty much quit destiny. I'd rather play mgs5 where I can sit in a chat with my friends while wandering about ghosting missions.
