[u]CONTEXT:[/u] I have these two female co-workers, [girl1] and [girl2]. [girl1] is a solid 9/10 with her bestie [girl2] not far behind. When they first meet one other each day they complement the other's looks.
[u]STORY:[/u] me and [girl2] arrived at work at the same time so I opened the door, and we both went inside. [girl1] immediately says "aww, you look adorable today." and [girl2] replies "aww, thank you!"
then [girl1] says words I will never in my life forget.
"No, I was talking to [me]"
first thing that came to my mind was "lol [girl2] just got rekt" so I laughed, and then went to my office. Only then did it dawn on me.

Whatever gets you through your day. Unless you're a girl then it's a two faced compliment, That's right women we all know you hate each other!

Compliment her back but it has to be a genuine compliment dont just make something up just to say something nice. People tend to like people that like them. So if you give off the impression that you like her(doesnt have to be in a sexual way or a relationship level "like") she will probably like u back. Also people like to be complimented on their personality and achievements more than their appearance unless it is a part of their appearance that they like ex"god. I really like my teeth those braces made my smile perfect" ex compliment "has anyone ever told you that you have a beautiful smile" also avoid compliments such as "you look great today" today implies that they look better than they usually do and can be taken as semi insulting. Complimenting people and getting them to like you is a key step in forming a long lasting relationship. Also as a side note do not disagree with her opinion. It is okay to argue a point with a person if that is what there intention was but do not ever insult the opinion of a person you are trying to be friends with. No one ever wants to hear "you are wrong" or that was a dumb idea". If she says "im christian" dont say " well you realize the bible cant possibly be correct" if she says "i like icecream" dont say " i dont or it's unhealthy for you" the only time you should disagree with someone on their opinion if you want them to like you is when they are looking for positive feed back about their insecurity ex"my nose is ugly" ex good response "no its not it makes you look cute" hope this helps and good luck

"Adorable" abandon ship! Abandon ship! When girls imply "cuteness" it's never a good sign. Yes it's good technically... But not for going out. Ask a few girls what that means and you will understand

Your a dumbass Females are only receptive to sexual advances for .0001 seconds moron!

It's okay. I was zoned out when i was walking to one of my classes and 2 girls from my other classes were just smiling at me the whole time as i held the door open for them. One of them said something, but because i was in my own world i have no clue what the hell was said. College sucks sometimes.
