Bungie Name change not applying (says I can only change once, but I never changed it, stuck with Guardian + numbers)
I used to play Destiny 2 a few years ago under my usual Alias (matching steam account) and downloaded it again recently to play and noticed my name was changed at some point to Guardian + numbers (hiding the numbers for privacy).
After logging into Bungie to try change it, I tried re-applying my steam name to it and save the changes but it never saves. A notification keeps telling me I can only change it once despite never changing it to this name myself. Please help, I don't want to make a new account

Bungie Name changes are currently experiencing technical difficulties, which is preventing everyone from changing their name. Bungie is fully aware and working hard towards a fix. For now, continue to play as normal and check back at a later time to see if this has been rectified. -
Mines been jacked up since July. Still no fix lol.
