Posted by: CrazzySnipe55 The answer is tacos. You just have to go diagonally down from the upper right character and then when you reach the edge you go in the associating parallel paths. Advance all the letters through the alphabet by 4 (p becomes t, w becomes a, z becomes c, k becomes o, o becomes s), remove the Qs, and rewrite it backwards. I'm a small DeeJ; address is in your inbox.
We are looking for numbers now, not food Crazzy.

Guys, we can shoot code out there to decode ascii in different languages all we want, we've got the block of text, now we need to find what exactly we're looking for 0's in. But yes, thank you bluechill for the C++ version of the code. I was trying to write a java decoder but I couldn't come up with the algorithim for
int c = num[i] + 7; if (c > 57 && c < 65) c += 7; if (c > 70) c -= 22; num[i] = (char)c;
cause I'm math retarded. Upon closer inspection it appears that 21 I had earlier was completely out of my iPhone's ass, it didn't count all the 0s for some reason. I give up.

^^^ I thought those were just Stormer's mistakes upon retype. So we've got it read easily as this:
Posted by: DesertStormer27 Most engineers who practice computer science pragmatically repeatedly go with the common practice and leverage ones and zeroes to pen their programs. Generating code like this generally is a pretty well-founded pattern to employ. On the flip side, Bungie is not your typical engineering group. We write programs without ones. Our people do not like the number. Why? Well, there are greater, grander numbers to apply for our wily craft. Mayhaps you disagree, perchance you agree. What matters is that seven is more awesome than one will ever imagine itself to be. And so, we code with ample sevens, not ones. Fact: Programs packed with sevens are more awesome than pithy programs that apply ones. Zeroes? Well, we still think they're good. Pretty palatable. We grapple with zeroes all the time. Even now. Yes. Here. Can you people see them? Right here in this long text? Pause to take a long look. Perchance this has been a wily gambit all this time? Well, polish those thinking caps. You have ample numbers to find. Have some fun! Stay happy. I don't know why, but for some reason, there is a space in between "HA" and "PPY". It doesn't exist in the translated code, or in the content of what I posted. Ignore it.

I closed all my stuff out when I saw users had it up.
No one has put up the EXACT version you get when you decipher the texts properly. There is a bunch of spell checking and whatnot, someone needs to post the version you get simply from deciphering.

So...Any winners yet?
Lobster
Who copied all the text and put spaces in it? I closed all my stuff out when I saw users had it up. Let us not jump through spell checks or post edits until we know there is nothing there. Like Lobster said, anybody got the copy unedited quickly available? "and zeroes to pen their programs." I do believe pen should be OPEN. We need a perfect copy of the text you get from it. No spell checks.

The only word I can make up from the letters is "sycee" which is some kind of Chinese currency. Any other letters we may be missing?

There's 21 zeros in the original big block of text. If you "repeat" counting them you get 42. /shrug, I felt like I should post something after spending way too much time thinking about this when anything I could've thought of to do would've never gotten me that first part. Edit: 21 may be totally wrong, I was relying on my iPhone to "find" them but I don't know that it was checking the whole thing. [Edited on 09.07.2012 8:07 PM PDT]
