The overall gist of the new layout? See the video. However, I love the new front page, easier formatting, spoiler tags, images, videos, proper profile options, etc. Just miss the old layout so much. A huge monitor with this much white is painful. It's why I hated going on Facebook once I got it. I miss individual forums. I have no idea how the tags work (I'll learn, but for now, crying face). I hate the lack of pinned topics. I am thoroughly disappointed that the new group cap is 10 (I'm in 24, so I'm going to have fun whittling that down if I need to :/), and I don't like the increased use of social media. Otherwise, fingers crossed. I might grow to love it. Then again, it's a huge change. And I mean, huge.
