The Last of us Sequel. *SPOILERS*
Now before people start going OH MY GOD IT JUST CAME OUT.... please listen to me. Okay, I have finished the game three times now. I have got the platinum because I loved the game to death.
Naughtydog have already confirmed Joel and Ellie's story is over.
[spoiler]Ellie could return in the sequel as a main character/support character. Why? In the last chapter... why would ND make you want to play as Ellie and not Joel? Why is Ellie the last character you play as? [/spoiler]
For a sequel
[spoiler]Will Ellie go to lengths to find out why Joel lied to her? Will she tell Tommy about it? What if Tommy found out his brother KILLED the fireflies? Considering they are all living together right now as of the final chapter.... anything can happen. Ellie and Joel have a really huge bond atm, but in the end she hinted that she MIGHT become an infected. Did anyone notice her bite getting worse? Seriously compare the first time she shows it until the end. There is a huge difference. We know Ellie is immune and cannot become infected. Why did her bite become worse then? There are MANY possibilities for sequels. I hope she never becomes infected. [/spoiler]
I am curious about what you guys think could happen in a sequel. I enjoyed the game so much and I cannot wait for the story dlc coming soon. It should show how Joel met Tess, imo.

1 ReplyYou know what would be a good twist in a sequel? If they effectively made us attached to another character(s), then late in the game there would be an encounter with Joel and Ellie and they would kill one of the new characters or vice versa. It could really mess with players' minds.

1 ReplyI grew so emotionally attached to Joel and Ellie throughout the Last of Us that it was disheartening for the game to end. Any sort of continuation with Joel and Ellie would be perfect, so long as the story told right.

6 Repliesif they do make a sequel, which i hope that they dont, i want to be a new character. someone fresh, maybe someone from [spoiler]the community that Joel's brother started.[/spoiler] or maybe a person in a dying quarantine zone and has to find a new home, whether that be a place within a group of hunters or a place in the community mentioned ealier.

Naughty dog always have trilogies. sorry to burst your hope bubble but I'm pretty sure the dlc is strictly multiplayer. but I do agree with you, why would they let us play as Ellie right at the end? It must be that they have plans to make her a main character in any sequels

2 RepliesThey usually register domains that are for future references and to stop people from trolling and confusing people. Halo had up to Halo 9 domain names before 4 was out and there was no plans past a Halo 6 until now.

2 RepliesMan I don't know. I grew so strongly with these characters and I think their story is pretty perfect. I think any sort of sequel involving them AT ALL would ruin the first game. However, I'm VERY interested in them doing another game within the The Last of Us universe. I'm from California, and I'd be very interested in a game where you play as the main character from California. I would enjoy a game where they go into detail about how the virus actually spread. Basically, take the first level in Last of Us and make it a bigger part of the next game. It would be weird of them to only include Ashley Johnson doing voice acting for Ellie, and not include Joel. and like you said, their story if finished and complete. The directors and writers have said this a lot already. They didn't make this game with the intent of "adding to the story later". That's why there's that scene in the car where Ellie says she hates cliffhangers. Ellie and Joel's story is done.

Of course they are making another one this game was really popular and the best game I have played in a long time.
