I'm honestly not surprised at all. TLOU was an amazing game and the highlight of 2013 IMO.

I wish I'd been able to play TLOU and if it comes out on Gaikai/PSNow then I'll be pretty happy. However I didn't get to play it so I'd give GOTY to Battlefield 4 >:D

Personally, I think Battlefield 4 was GOTY for one reason. It was better than the rest of them, but I don't think any of 2013's games were GOTY material.

9 RepliesThe Last of Us is one of the most overrated games of the previous generation. I wouldn't even call it a game; it is nothing more than an interactive movie. Its story is horrendous and I wonder why people think it's the "pinnacle of gaming". Naughty Dog should stop trying to tell serious stories before they embarrass themselves even further. For me Bioshock Infinite is my game of the year the story by itself is enough to make it my game of the year. But Congrats to Naughty Dog.

I honestly think sequels should be barred from the GOTY category.

Was the most deserving of the year. Nothing else stacked up to it. Tomb Raider is the only other game I would have given it to.
