It doesn't come as a big surprise that a super successful game would get developers thinking about a sequel. Naughty Dog has been thinking about a choice between a new IP or a TLoU sequel. Do you want to see more of The Last(ish) of Us, or would you rather see what else Naughty Dog can do?
Note that wondering what a naughty dog can do does not mean the same thing in other contexts.

Edited by A Metroid: 2/9/2014 7:32:23 PMSo Ladder Simulator 2?
-
Team A works on UC4, Team 2 works on TLOU sequel/prequel, then both teams each make a new IP. That's what I want.
-
I'd rather see them work on a new IP, preferably something out of their comfort zone like an open-world game. However, if they do decide to make another TLoU game, I think a prequel would be better than a sequel. Something set during Joel's hunter years.
-
They should make a prequel called "The First of Us", make it about the first 2 zombies who are just trying to survive in a human dominated world where everyone wants them dead, so they start a revolution.
-
I only want a second game if it has nothing to do with Joel or Ellie; a cameo at the most, or meeting a character they met or are related to. I don't want them to continue Joel and Ellie's story, because I think the ambiguity of the ending was the best, most mature way they could have possibly ended the game; elaborating on what happened afterwards will ruin it.

Play as clicker.

Edited by BannedLemön: 2/9/2014 7:10:33 AMA prequel maybe? Take place some time during the 20 or so years of Joel's life before the events of TLoU.
-
Only if it's one of three: Ellie as lead, no Joel Prequel in Joel's hunter years Whole new story arc with new cast, maybe cameo of Joel and Ellie Other than that new ip please.
-
That's pretty much the only thing that would get me to buy a Shitstation 4. Also the only reason I still own a Shitstation 3 is to play the DLC when it releases next week.
-
Edited by Derp: 2/7/2014 3:05:58 PMWell it was bound to happen. Successful games get sequels. I don't think Naughty Dog will milk it. They aren't known for that. *Remembers the great times with the Jak and Daxter series*...
-
The world they were in didn't have much depth. I don't know how they're going to pull off a sequel.
-
There should be sequel for the time that the game skipped.
-
There should be games that have stories that branch into sequels, like the Halo series, and games that just be stand alone titles, like Journey. I think The Last of Us would be best as a stand alone game, but a sequel could have lots of potential. Valve as this problem with Half Life 3. They have so much hype and such a good game to live up to that they don't want to disappoint everyone.
For mentioning Flappy Bird, I will devour your soul and the souls of all you hold dear.
New Story plz!

Edited by Lord Keksworth: 2/8/2014 3:30:24 AMIf it does get a sequel, I hope Joel and Ellie aren't the protagonists.
-
It doesn't need a sequel. If it gets one, which it probably will, have a new cast of characters. Joel and Ellie's story is finished.
-
I didn't play the last of us, but I am playing to when I go over to a friends house.
-
I doubt they'd try to create a new IP, especially considering the success of The Last of Us. In fact, the sole reason they made TLOU is so that they could own a new IP alongside the Uncharted series. It also takes a lot of time and effort and is very stressful to make a new IP, so I highly doubt they'll create a new series right now. As for a sequel to TLOU, I be perfectly fine with it. The first game was an instant classic. I'd prefer if they introduce new characters though, Joel and Ellie's story is done as far as ND is concerned, although I totally wouldn't mind if they were in the sequel.
-
I loved TLOU, but I think it was a one and done story. The world they creates was not very deep, it was a character driven game instead. They should just make a new IP.
-
Edited by Fresh Pancake: 2/7/2014 3:44:56 PMIf it played exactly like Flappy bird people would still worship it.
-
Not sure how they can do a direct sequel without tainting the impact of the game's ending. However if anyone can pull it off it's ND, and I won't complain about more Joel and Ellie.
