I have been studying video game violence and real violence, and I can tell you that video games don't make people violent. They are proven to have a more healthy impact on a person than most would think. It is proven that games help with:
Decision making
Hand to eye co-ordination
Stress relief
Most parents don't understand the greatness of games. Adults need to read more about other factors that can cause violence. For example, you have the "warrior gene", how they are brought up, social life. Even TV could be linked with violence.
Look up some information about the good effects that video games can have on the players.

Also it helps against depression. Think about the request and reward system in games helps boost self esteem making them feel better of themselfs wich in turn helps depression but this is only one point to it.
