Here in the darkness everything feels too close and out of reach at the same time. I am the last of my Fireteam. We were sent here to investigate some transmissions sent by the Fallen. Traveler knows why... They sprang on us like a trap. There was nothing we could do to hold our ground. The first thing they did was put out our lights with selective fire. As we were pressed back into the tunnels we were separated. I was hesitant to shoot anything in front of me for fear of it being one of my brothers, my friends, my fireteam... I fled calling them to follow... useless... all my training... static... I' ve been wandering in these tunnels for days feeling along the walls with my hands. Every hiss of a pipe and drop of water shoots like threads of lightning through my body. Every sound is my enemy coming for me... coming to put out my spark. static... [buffering] static... I've been blind my whole life til this moment... There is light up ahead, it's my spark hanging in the darkness... I'm so tired... ready to die and join my fireteam in the infinite black hovering like stars over my clan... static... [buffering] static... I made it out. This junk heap in the setting sun, is so beautiful... I've been wounded. Dragging blood all through the blackness. It never hurt til now. I left a trail, so they'll be finding me soon enough. I am lost... but, I hope for my clan. please... tell them.. I love them. Tell them to defend the weak, because alone, we are all weak. Tell them to look out for strangers, because alone, we are all strangers. Tell them to make peace with all clans, because it is the will of the Darkness to divide us in petty disputes and vainglory. Our enemy is so pervasive... cough.. cough... Don't be arrogant. Call even our children guardians. The only thing keeping this from being their fight, is us. I fear that it will come to them far to soon. We need everyone... evey last one. To all clans I would say... When the darkness draws near your home, and you don't know what to do, fill what is empty and empty what is full.
