I disagree - I find material farming relaxing when I am over PvP or the strike playlist.
Sometimes I'll farm when I don't need it just because of the mood I'm in.

Yeah, when you're on patrol/farm you can slain the enemy, gain materials, experience, even rare/legendary engrams and you're not die. I find this way more relaxing than dying in pvp in every minute. But it depend on taste :)
