Requesting acknowledgment of the £40 UK price-tag - Been over a month, where are you Bungie?
I posted about this in the destiny forum but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears so I'm hoping i might get more luck here.

Basically TTK is $40 in US and £40 in the U.K.
Just so we're all clear that $40=/=£40:
£40=$62
$40=£26
£26 plus UK taxes = £32ish
£32=$50
I'm not looking for bungie to suddenly set the price to £32, I just want them to acknowledge that the price variance exists because as of 12/08/2015 (or 08/12/2015 for our American colleagues) we have had nothing official said on this aside from Luke Smith blanking the issue in an interview.
There's your challenge Deej, Cosmo or any other employees searching the forums, just drop into this thread and say hi. I'm not looking for an explanation, just acknowledgment.

1 ReplyThey won't acknowledge it just like almost all the other negative things in this game they don't acknowledge. They have seriously just become all about money. I have decided to no longer support them based on the way they spout about their community and how we can just "throw money" away to let them get rich. I highly recommend just moving on. Stop supporting this type of business.

Some nice additions over time but drifted away without ever finishing HoW as I felt that overall it wasn't worth the money. TTK got my interest again, so I came back for a look and lo and behold, its just as before. £40 for DLC? They must be crazy. Will just wait until it plummets in price for a boxed copy or will probably just leave it. Missed opportunity to restore some faith. Pretty much the nail in the coffin.

I think it's scandalous and shocking how they expect us to pay £40 for this "expansion" pack. I bought the base game and 2 dlcs which cost £75..yet now i can buy the legendary edition including the ttk "expansion" for £38. I work , yes and can afford to buy it but out of principle i won't. Disgusting how Activision and bungie can treat their most loyal UK fanbase this way!!!

You was never going to get a reply from bungie about this. Destin legari was good to mention it a couple of times on fireteam chat, but then he got in front of deej and a Dev for an interview at e3 he didn't mention it. It's not going to be addressed.

Luke Smith said that they were listening and in year 2 that they would be better about communicating. Not sure why they can't start now... The closest you're going to get is that they acknowledge they aren't going to respond to your concerns that they swear they are listening to.

I am 100% certain they have no intention of lowering over seas pricing because your going to buy it anyway. Say no! If sales equal almost nothing. They will hear your message loud and clear. I havent even pre ordered TTK and im a fan.

I would be in there but need my beauty sleep at the time seeing as I am down under and all. Need some UK and US guardians to do some good work. Also just on pricing in the UK is the price for digital CE and physical the same??? because it is here in AUS which again is complete bullshit becuase you don't get any physical loot with the digital CE just the shaders and shit.

3 RepliesVAT gets charges everytime a product changes hands, including between wholesalers and retailers. Activision charges VAT to Gamestop, Gamestop charges VAT to you. That's his it works. Activision charges 36.46 to Gamestop. GS pays 7.29 in VAT equalling 43.75. Gamestop charges you VAT of 8.75 equalling 52.50. Add in a few bucks profit, and you have your $60. Now do the math backwards for € and £ and you'll see its the government, not Activision. It won't be long before all companies do this, as 20-27% VAT is not as sustainable as 3% was basing operations out of Luxembourg.

I thought they would have priced TTK the same as the other expansions and not £40. Personally I would pay maybe £25-30 but £40 seems like a big ask considering thr amount of actual new content...but that said many people will just buy it anyway. The only other option is to wait a few months until it drops on price.
