Running into some random problems with Stasis shards when useing Glaive Melee attacks.
- Winter's Shroud: Dodging SLOWs nearby enemies. SLOWing targets briefly increases Class Ability regeneration.
- Grim Harvest: Creates Stasis SHARDs when defeating a SLOWed or FROZEN enemy, and grants FROST ARMOR on Stasis SHARD pickup.
Test 1: Winter's Shroud / Grim Harvest equipped. Ecliptic Distaff glaive used for thest. No other Fragments or Artifact Mods equipped.
Dodge to slow enemy, kill with Ecliptic Distaff glaive melee, Stasis Shard created as expected and on pickup grants Frost Armor. Two aspects working as intended.
- Whisper of Reversal: While you have FROST ARMOUR, melee damage SLOWs your target.
Test 2: Same setup as Test 1 but with Whisper of Reversal equipped. Get initial Frost armour stack through Winter Shroud/Grim Harvest as per Test 1. Follow on glaive melee 1-hit kills of Red-bar enemies in a Lost Sector randomly create stasis shards.
I don't know if Whisper of Reversal should be working with Glaive Melee at all, OR if the Slow effect should be applied before or after damage is applied. The Fragment implies it should Slow on every melee hit, which with Grim Harvest should create a Stasis Shard on every kill. This is not the case, and feels roughly 50/50 if a Shard is generated or not.
Test 3: Same setup as Test 1, No Fragments, but with Winterbite Exotic Glaive equipped. Get initial Frost armour stack through Winter Shroud/Grim Harvest as per Test 1. Follow on Glaive Melee 1-hit kills of Red-bar enemies in a Lost Sector never create a Stasis Shard through Grim Harvest, even though the Glaive applies Slow on melee hit when it has ammo loaded. Against Powerful / Yellow-bar enemies, Winterbite is applying Slow as normal.
- Whisper of Chains: Defeating enemies while you have FROST ARMOUR has a chance to create a Stasis SHARD.
Test 4: Same setup as test 1, but with Whisper of Chains equipped. Get initial Frost Armour stack through Winter Shroud/Grim Harvest as per Test 1. Using Ecliptic Distaff glaive melee, follow on Glaive Melee 1-hit kills of Red-bar enemies in a Lost Sector do occasionally create a Stasis Shard with the Fragment.
Anecdotally the chance feels very low, certainly less than 20% with around 1 in 5 enemies giving me a Stasis shard. Even though the Fragment provides +10 Recovery, this feels very off.
Test 5: Same setup as test 1, but with Whisper of Chains and Reversal equipped. Get initial Frost Armour stack through Winter Shroud/Grim Harvest as per Test 1. Using Winterbite glaive melee, follow on Glaive Melee 1-hit kills of Red-bar enemies in a Lost Sector do randomly create a Stasis Shard, and sometimes two Stacks of Frost aRmour is granted indicating that two Stasis Shards were created.
Using both fragments felt like I was much more consistently able to get Stasis Shard with Glaive Melee kills, but I have no idea if this is working as intended.
Suggestions:
1. Ensure Winterbite and Whisper of Reversal both apply the Slow effect before delivering damage. This should then proc Grim Harvest on each kill, even where its a 1-hit kill on a red-bar.
2. Improve the Proc chance on Whisper of Chains to at least 50%.
Justifications:
1. Glaive melee does not proc Siphon Mods or the Reaper Mod. Orb generation is generally difficult for Stasis Glaive builds.
2. The Stasis kit itself does not any Healing/Sustain outside of additional DR stacking. Again, this doesn't lend itself well to enabling Stasis Glaive builds to deal with Bosses and stomp attacks as they will have to bug out and Recover at some points. Void Overshields / Solar Recovery are much better in this regard.
